🎉Congratulations to our patient, Millie, on completing her Phase 1 treatment!
Millie presented at age 8y7m with a crossbite that pushed her lower jaw to the right side when biting, severe upper crowding, and an edge to edge bite relationship.
We used a maxillary expander and limited upper braces to correct her crossbite and align her front adult teeth in 11 months. By correcting her shift, the upper and lower midlines are now aligned.
In some cases like Millie's, interceptive orthodontic care can not only allow for continued normal dental and skeletal development, but also reduce the need for full treatment. She will likely have the option of elective correction of minor crowding when she reaches skeletal maturity.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends orthodontic evaluation for children at age 7. If you would like Dr. Keener to evaluate your child, call our office at (434) 973-6542, or contact us through keenerorthodontics.com!
