Summer break can be an ideal time to take care of wisdom teeth before school, sports, travel, and busy schedules pick back up.

Impacted wisdom teeth don't always cause symptoms right away, but they can lead to:
✔️ Crowding and shifting of nearby teeth
✔️ Damage to neighboring teeth
✔️ Cysts and benign tumors
✔️ Painful infections

A consultation and imaging can help identify potential problems early and determine whether wisdom tooth removal is recommended.

If wisdom teeth are on your to-do list, now is a great time to schedule an evaluation.

FAQ: How does a dental bone graft work? 🦷

A bone graft restores lost jawbone, creating the support needed for long-lasting dental implants.

Here’s a simple breakdown of the process:
➡️ Graft material is placed in the area of bone loss.
➡️ A protective membrane may be added to aid healing.
➡️ New bone forms naturally around the graft over time.
➡️ Once healed, the site is strong enough for implant placement.

As healing completes, the graft integrates with your existing bone for a stable, lasting result.

Protect your oral health, and know what to watch for.

➡️ Check these areas for warning signs:
- Lips – sores, bumps, or unusual patches
- Inside cheeks (labial & buccal mucosa) – red/white patches, ulcers
- Gums & vestibule – swelling, irritation, or bleeding
- Tongue (top, sides, underside) – lumps, color changes, or sores
- Floor of mouth – sores, thickened areas, or discomfort
- Palate (hard & soft) – unusual patches or pain
- Back of throat & lymph nodes – persistent soreness, swelling, or lumps

➡️ If left untreated, some changes may lead to:
- Gum, mouth, or oral cancer
- Infection or abscess formation
- Tissue damage or bone loss
- Difficulty eating, speaking, or maintaining oral hygiene
- Spread of disease to nearby tissues or lymph nodes
- Need for more extensive surgery later

Spotting changes early with regular check-ups and self-monitoring helps protect your health.
