June is Oral Health Month, so this is a reminder that endodontic care, like root canals, helps support your oral health.

When the inside of a tooth becomes infected, it doesn’t just affect one tooth. It can impact your overall oral health, comfort, and ability to eat and speak normally. Root canals remove infection, relieve pain, and preserve your natural tooth before the problem becomes more serious.

At Ballantyne Endodontics, we believe saving your natural teeth whenever possible is one of the best things you can do for your long-term oral health. That’s why our mission is simple: Give Teeth a Chance.

If you’ve been experiencing tooth pain, lingering sensitivity, or swelling, don’t ignore the signs. Timely endodontic treatment can make all the difference.

Pat said, "The staff at Ballantyne Endodontics is second to none. Dr Tadrissi's attention to detail is special. His care and explanations throughout the surgery kept me totally informed. I hope this is my last root canal, but if I need another one, no hesitation in returning to this office."

At Ballantyne Endodontics, we aim to keep you informed through the entire treatment process to maintain your peace of mind.

When you suffer from tooth decay, a cavity, a crack, or an injury, this can allow harmful bacteria to invade the pulp of your tooth. This infection of the tooth’s nerve is what causes so much dental pain. If it isn’t treated in a timely manner, it can lead to serious illness and health complications.

If this is your scenario, you probably have two treatment options: have a root canal or have the tooth extracted (removed).

As endodontists, we’re biased towards root canals… but so is the science! Whenever you can save your natural teeth, it’s better for your oral and overall health.

When performed properly, a root canal will protect your tooth against bad bacteria that cause infection, while allowing you to keep your natural tooth. Not to mention, with the technology we have at Ballantyne Endodontics, we can keep your root canal procedure relatively painless!

So rest assured, if a root canal has been recommended to you, it's because it is necessary and will benefit your health!

You may have experienced the discomfort and sensitivity that commonly occur prior to getting root canal treatment once before, but facing the prospect of going through the procedure again naturally gives rise to questions and concerns. Though the need for retreatment is relatively uncommon, reinfection sometimes occurs for various reasons.

On our blog, we will explain the primary causes of root canal reinfection, the importance of retreatment, what to expect during the procedure, and tips for preventing future infections.
