Digital photography is an essential part of dentistry today. Photographing my work constantly challenges me to do better, because when a tooth is shown 75x bigger than real life on a 24” Dell UHD monitor, details invisible to the naked eye practically reach out and bite you! 😜
I’ve used Canon DSLRs in my office for 19 years, going back to the original 6MP Canon Digital Rebel. It’s long past time that I upgraded, so today I did.
The people at Cardinal Camera (located in The Arboretum Shopping Center in south Charlotte, NC, USA) have been my camera source for 10 years. Great service, prices on par with all the big places, and less than 3 miles from our home. The $$$ amount I’ve spent there, on both work and personal camera gear, since 2013 is kind of scary, but always worth it.
2 Canon R10 APS-C crop sensor mirrorless camera bodies (ignore the kit lens shown, I didn’t get those and they’re useless for dentistry), 2 EF - EOS R Mount Adapters so I can use my original Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 macro lenses and MR-14EX II ring flashes, and 2 extra batteries.
With Canon’s current $100 off sale, the $150 trade in for each of the old DSLRs, and the $200 cash value of those old DSLRs, and all this came to barely under $1700 USD.
