We are excited to announce that Dr. Amelia Grabe is going to be joining the team at Community Dental Care of Claremont this week! Please call 603-287-1300 to schedule an appointment. She is so excited to be back in the community! They accept VA, Medicaid, and Northeast Delta insurances and will submit to other insurances for reimbursement too and of course, private pay patients- we take care of everyone! So excited to join Cindy Burr, who was a hygienist with Dr. George Grabe for about 13 years! The dental director is a periodontist, Dr. Meggan Wehmeyer, so all her services plus she is a lactation consultant and helps treat tongue and lip ties with laser therapy. Looking forward to seeing many of our former patients/dental family again!

It is with much sadness, but with gratitude, that we announce we are closing our practice after 50 years of helping people improve their dental health in our community. We are all aware how COVID has significantly affected small businesses with staffing issues and quarantines after exposures, plus there has been added stress on remaining team members to maintain a quality experience for our patients. Dr. Lane has made the very difficult decision that she needs to make a change in her professional career to be able to focus more on her health and family. As a result, she has accepted a position at Perry Family Dental Care in Keene, NH. Today is her last full day in Charlestown (she will be finishing lab cases such as crowns and partials on Mondays in February as needed). Patients are welcome to follow her there if they so choose or to transition to another dentist. We sent by snail mail or email records release forms with our letter notifying patients of our news. Jen is available at our practice until the end of February to facilitate transferring records. Please contact her by phone or email and she will take care of you. It has been our greatest pleasure joy providing dental health care to the Charlestown community and we will dearly miss our patient family. Thank you for your trust and patronage. -Dr. Amelia Grabe and Dr. George Grabe

For al patients driving to Charlestown from the south, please go through Bellows Falls and up 91 to exit 7 and allow extra time. Looks like this will be going on until hopefully Thanksgiving. Our town is grateful for our amazing Rep. Steve Smith!

The saturation and shift under the roadway is pretty bad. This is going to be an actual tear out and rebuild job, right down to the underlying concrete slabs. I received this update from NHDOT: & #8…

Thought this was great perspective and of course, dental, so I love it! -Dr Grabe Lane.

Be Like a Tooth, My Friend
Be like a tooth, my friend,
Tough like enamel
Soft-hearted like pulp.
Form tight contacts with your fellow men
Yet, keep enough embrasures to cleanse yourself.
Take good care of your health,
Lest decay creep into your body.
The road of life won’t be straight
There will be pits, fissures and fossae,
But also cusps, ridges and heights of contour
With your comrades, you can crush and grind any obstacle.
Yet, remember you are still unique
And no pontic can fully perform your functions.
Sometimes you will be injured and traumatized.
You may even feel out of occlusion with the world.
But you have the power to regenerate, to remineralize;
For your bones are deep-rooted in the house of humanity.
And your close friends, your abutments,
Will support you and gladly share the load with you.
Don’t forget trauma can strengthen your ligaments,
And one day, you will realign yourself ,
And reoccupy your space in the arch of life.
Never give up or surrender to toxins,
For, I’m afraid, extraction will be your only option,
This premature death that grieves your closest friends,
Who will shift, erupt in tears, and tip over your grave
To mourn the loss of a friend they couldn’t save.
Be like a tooth, my friend!

When you're a dentist and the tooth that got a horizontal fracture in the mesial root 2 days after dental school graduation in 2005 (and I've NEVER had decay, ever! But had a root canal for my first ever dental procedure) has a problem, 16 years later.. you go see your friends who you send all your patients to because they're the best. And they took the best care of me, even when I had a little break down in having to decide who my restorative dentist would be after my Dad retired 6 years ago.... Too bad the root is fractured now 😱😭🤯🤬 now to my friends the oral surgeons! I can't thank you enough Rebekah Lucier Pryles and Brooke Blicher for your top notch care, kindness, and compassion with me this morning, you are THE best 🦷❤
