POV: the boss watching the team just… click. πŸ₯Ή

There's a moment in a busy morning when everything flows and everyone in sync without asking for help. They just know. πŸ’›

Here's why that matters for your family: a team that trusts each other creates a calmer room for your child. Kids feel safe when the grown-ups around them are relaxed. That ease you notice? It's not an accident. It's culture. πŸͺ₯✨

At Oak Point Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Rachel Morris built a team that loves caring for Charleston kids from first tooth to teen years.

"My kid's teeth look fine. Why should I bring them to the dentist?"

I hear you. If everything looks good on the outside, it feels like an unnecessary trip. But pediatric dentists have years of additional training specifically in growth and development. That's not something general dentists get the same amount of.

So kids get referred to me for one thing, and I'll start looking around and find other stuff nobody's mentioned. And it's not because anyone missed it on purpose. It's because they weren't trained to look for it.

Like, teeth are one piece of it, but I'm also looking at jaw growth, airway, how everything's developing together. A routine visit catches more than you'd think. That's the whole point of coming in before there's a problem.

It's not just a dental chair. To us, it's where we get to care for the brave little kid sitting in it. πŸ¦·πŸ’›

Every wiggle, every nervous giggle, every story shared by kids, we see it all and meet your child exactly where they are.

At Oak Point Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Rachel Morris and our team treat every child like our own from first tooth to teen years. πŸͺ₯✨

My son Henry has been getting his six-year molars in for what feels like six months. SIX MONTHS. I'm a pediatric dentist and even I keep thinking, are these teeth ever going to finish?

It's not really painful most of the time. Every once in a while he'll mention something, but mostly it's just this slow, never-ending process of teeth inching their way through gums at geological speed.

And that's totally normal. These molars take their time. There's not much you can do except ride it out, maybe offer some Tylenol if they're uncomfortable, and be grateful when they finally arrive.

So if you're watching your kid's molars emerge in what feels like real-time evolution, you're not alone. I'm right there with you.

Going through the molar marathon? Hang in there.

POV: You got 5 likes on your last reel and you're walking into work like πŸ’β€β™€οΈβœ¨

The algorithm said "no thanks" but the toddlers said "again! again!" so honestly… we're winning. πŸ˜‚

We didn't get into pediatric dentistry to go viral. We got into it for:

✨ The kid who was TERRIFIED and left asking when they can come back
✨ The mama who finally felt actually heard
✨ Our team making a nervous tiny human belly laugh in under 30 seconds πŸ’›

Those are our metrics. 🦷

Drop a πŸ’› if you'd rather have a dentist who cares more about your kid than their follower count.

Charleston mamas, come hang out with us at Oak Point. Way more fun in person than on the algorithm. πŸ˜…

"My kid is sleeping now. They can actually breathe. We didn't realize how bad it was because it was just... normal to us."

That's what a parent told me after going through with an early orthodontic treatment and ENT referral they initially pushed back on pretty hard. And I get the pushback. When something has been your kid's baseline forever, you don't realize it's actually not normal. You just think that's how they are.

But once we expanded the palate, once the ENT addressed the airway stuff, everything shifted. The kid was sleeping, breathing better, eating better. And the parents were like, "We had no idea."

So when we recommend something that feels like overkill, it's usually because we're seeing something you can't see yet. And it's okay to be unsure. We'd rather talk it through ten times than have you do something you're not comfortable with.

Today, we pause.

To the men and women who gave everything so we could live ordinary, beautiful days, thank you. To the families who carry that loss, we see you.

From all of us at Oak Point Pediatric Dentistry, we remember.

05/25/2026

That sound. You know the one. 🦷

You're tucking your little one in, leaning down for one more kiss, and there it is, that grinding noise. Cue the 11pm worry spiral.

Breathe, mama. We've got you.

When grinding comes up at Oak Point, we start with questions: Has your kiddo been sick? Are we teething? Sometimes it's just a short-term blip.

But if it's been going on a while, we look deeper. Long-term grinding can be your child's body telling us something about their airway not just their teeth. That's when we bring in a bigger team to figure out what your kid actually needs.

Because pediatric dentistry isn't just about teeth. It's about whole, healthy, well-rested little humans. πŸ’›

Your kid chipped a front tooth and now they don't want to smile. That's the worst part. Not the chip itself, but watching your kid cover their mouth.

I just finished training in a new cosmetic filling technique that makes these repairs look better than ever. It's stronger, lasts longer, and looks incredibly natural. Way beyond what we could do before. And it's still filling material, not a veneer or anything invasive. One visit, no drama, and your kid walks out feeling like themselves again.

For those chipped teeth from sports, falls, or just being a kid, we can now make them look like nothing ever happened. And for the little chips that aren't bothering anyone yet, we can always plan to fix them after braces or once all the permanent teeth are in, so we only have to do it once.

Chipped teeth? We've got a new way to fix it.
