🚴‍♂️ USA Cycling Pro Road National Championships return to Charleston this week!

As we prepare for race week, we want to remind residents and visitors that many of the traffic impacts associated with USA Cycling will be familiar. If you experienced the Time Trials, Criterium, or Road Races during the past two years, you can expect similar road closures, detours, parking restrictions, and modified access.

Motorists should plan for traffic impacts as the Time Trials take place along Kanawha Blvd.

🚧 ROAD CLOSURE
Kanawha Blvd closure extends from Stockton St to Daniel Boone Park | 6 AM–5 PM (or end of race)

🚫 Stockton St to Pennsylvania Ave
• Full closure
• No on-street parking permitted
• Vehicles must be moved by 7 AM
• Towing will be enforced

✅ Pennsylvania Ave to Clendenin St
• Single westbound lane remains open for destination access to businesses

🚫 Clendenin St to Brooks St
• Full closure
• Alternate routes required

✅ Brooks St to Wertz Ave
• Westbound travel lanes and parking remain accessible

🚫 Wertz Ave to Daniel Boone Park
• Full closure

City-owned parking garages remain available:
• City Service Center
• Park Place Cinema
• Shanklin Parking Garage
• Summers Street Parking Garage

He and his teammate took the top spot in their recent CrossFit competition — and we couldn’t be prouder.

If you know him, you know this isn’t by accident: early mornings, hard work, and a constant drive to get better.

He’s almost as passionate about CrossFit as he is about teeth… if that’s even possible 😉 🦷🏋🏼

Today I had the opportunity to spend the day with Kanawha County Schools gifted students as a “shark” for their creative product presentations “Shark Tank”—and WOW!

The future is BRIGHT. ✨

I was blown away by the creativity, confidence, and preparation these students brought to the table. Their ideas and presentations were seriously impressive—we have some amazing young entrepreneurs coming up!

I also had the best time serving alongside Ellis Insurance Agency and The WV Pickle Guy —such a fun group for the day!

ATTENTION to all Kanawha County school employees: You are responsible for enrolling yourself in the new insurance plan (Bento) by June 30th to avoid losing dental insurance.

The County has opted not to automatically migrate staff over to Bento on July 1st.
Therefore, each employee must enroll in Bento to utilize their dental insurance benefits BY JUNE 30, 2026!
