Does Halloween candy REALLY cause cavities? 🍬

🤔 THE ANSWER IS… MYTH!

Eating Halloween candy doesn’t automatically mean you’ll get cavities! Cavities develop when bacteria in your mouth use sugars to produce acids that attack your tooth enamel.

🦷 A little dental tip: Enjoy your treats in moderation, drink plenty of water, and don’t forget to brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste!

🦷 Meet Makayla 🦷

Born and raised in Ranson, WV, I’ve been dental assisting for over 3 years and am currently working toward dental hygiene school. I truly enjoy helping patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their dental experience, especially as they work toward getting their smiles and self-confidence back.

Outside of work, I coach girls’ travel volleyball while continuing to play myself. I love spending time at the beach, playing pickleball, going to concerts, and making memories with family and friends.
