After an incredible 26 years of dedication and leadership, our esteemed Office Manager, Lisa, is embarking on her well-deserved “next chapter” in life! Lisa is looking forward to spending more time with her family and especially her grandchildren — and we couldn’t be happier for her.

Lisa has been such a vital part of Dentistry at Winbury’s story. She was instrumental in designing and building our current facility in 2001 and has truly been the heart of our practice, helping formulate “patient centered” experiences, promoting loving relationships, and helping attract and hire the amazing team we have today. Her leadership, warmth, and commitment have shaped who we are, and her impact will always be part of our foundation.

Over the past four months, Alexis has been working closely alongside Lisa to ensure a smooth transition. With her incredibly positive attitude and background in psychology and business, Alexis is well-prepared to step into this role and continue serving our patients and team with excellence. We are excited for this next chapter at Dentistry at Winbury!

Please join us in thanking Lisa for her 26 years of dedication and wishing her all the very best in the adventures ahead. She will always be part of the Dentistry at Winbury family!

ORAL BACTERIA CAN TRAVEL TO THE HEART 🫀

Scientists have discovered something shocking — bacteria commonly found in dental plaque have been detected inside the arteries and even heart tissue of patients who suffered heart attacks.

How does this happen?
When gums are inflamed or diseased, bacteria can slip into the bloodstream through tiny breaks in gum tissue. Once in circulation, they may contribute to inflammation in blood vessels, accelerating cardiovascular damage.

This doesn’t mean oral bacteria directly cause heart disease, but their presence shows how strongly the mouth and heart are connected. Ignoring gum health could silently fuel risks far beyond the mouth.

Current research suggests that keeping gums healthy through regular brushing, flossing, and professional cleanings isn’t just about saving teeth — it could also help protect the heart.
