💙 International Day of Charity | Caring Beyond Our Community

Today, we’re proud to recognize Dr. Marbea Dazo’s commitment to using dentistry as a way to serve others.

In September 2024, Dr. Dazo and Dental Care of Cerritos helped support a dental mission in Conner, Apayao, Philippines, working alongside dedicated dental professionals from Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center to provide essential dental care to members of the community.

Over just two days, the mission provided:

🦷 115 dental procedures
👩‍⚕️ 9 dental surgeries

The work included critical tooth extractions and surgical dental care for people who needed it—made possible through the collaboration of dental professionals, local officials, sponsors, and community stakeholders.

For Dr. Dazo, dentistry has always been about more than caring for teeth. It’s an opportunity to care for people, strengthen communities, and use her skills to make a meaningful difference—both here at home and beyond. 🌎

On International Day of Charity, we celebrate everyone who gives their time, talents, and resources in service to others.

🦷 You should stop flossing if your gums bleed?

FALSE!

Occasional bleeding can happen, especially if you’re just getting back into a flossing routine. But gums that bleed regularly can also be a sign of inflammation or gum disease and shouldn’t simply be ignored.

Healthy gums generally shouldn’t bleed during normal brushing and flossing.

🪥 Brush gently twice a day
🦷 Floss daily
📅 Keep up with routine dental cleanings and exams
👩‍⚕️ Let your dental team know if bleeding continues

And remember: don’t let embarrassment about your oral health keep you from making an appointment. Catching problems early can make them much easier to address.
