Porcelain or composite veneers? Here’s the breakdown.

Most people come in knowing they want straighter, more even teeth. Almost nobody knows there are two very different ways to get there, and that the choice shapes the price, the timeline and how long the result holds.

Porcelain veneers are thin ceramic shells made in a lab and bonded to your teeth. Stain-resistant, slightly translucent, and they read as real teeth rather than caps. Two or more visits, a small amount of enamel shaped so they sit flush, and a typical lifespan of 15 to 25+ years.

Composite veneers are a tooth-colored resin sculpted directly onto your teeth in one appointment. Lower cost up front, same-day result, generally replaced every 5 to 7 years, since resin picks up coffee and w**e stain the way natural enamel does.
