🤩20 years in the making🎉

Earlier this month we celebrated 20 years of Dr. Erik and Ashley opening “Balster Pediatric Dentistry”! Since then, we have added another doctor, Dr. Beth Pfohl, and countless staff who make this all possible!

✨Thank you to all of our patients, past and present, for being a part of our story. Here’s to two decades of making smiles brighter and dental visits more fun!😁

As we look back on the last 20 years, here is where (most) of our current staff were 20 years ago!😆

Cheers to 20 years… and many more to come!🦷🎉🪥

👄Mouth Tales.

👅Your mouth can tell us a lot about you.

🦷For instance, tooth stains can indicate what you are eating and drinking. Coffee and tea leave distinct stains on your teeth. Kiddos that are receiving iron supplements will sometimes have staining on their teeth as well.

🫦Bad breath can be a sign of poor oral hygiene, but can also indicate the types of food in your diet.

🤢Plaque build up is a sign of poor brushing and flossing habits as well.

😮If this is something you notice, the good news is your dentist can help you! They will ask you questions about oral hygiene and diet. Your answers can help with pinpointing the problem and finding a solution.

🤔What do you do if a baby tooth gets knocked out?

👉First and foremost, stay calm and assess the area of the mouth where the tooth was knocked out.

👉Clean the area with a warm, wet cloth.

🦷Look for the tooth that was lost to make sure your child didn’t swallow or aspirate the tooth.

🦷If you find the tooth, do not reimplant the tooth in the socket. Doing this could damage the permanent tooth.

👉👉Last, contact your dentist as soon as possible and let them know what happened. They will likely have you come to the office to examine your child.

🦷Tooth trauma

👉Do you know what to do if your kiddo hits their mouth and traumatizes their tooth?

👉The most important thing you can do is remain calm. If there is a lot of blood, do your best to stop the bleeding and identify where the blood is coming from. Soft tissue in the mouth bleeds readily and easily.

👉If you can see trauma to the tooth, give your pediatric dentist a call right away. Many times your dentist will ask you to send a picture so they can assess if you need to bring your child in to the office immediately.
