Happy National Dental Hygienist Week to our wonderful hygentist, Cheryl! 🥳
Cheryl was born and raised in New Hartford, IA. She went on to attended the Hawkeye See Program in 1976 & spent the next 17 years working at an ophthalmologist office 🤓 She then switched career paths and graduated from HCC Dental Hygiene Program in 1999 and has been been practicing as a hygentist for the last 27 years! 🦷🪥
Her favorite part of working in the dental field is interacting with patients- both getting to know them on a personal level & educating them on their oral health. She also says working with a great staff makes her days so much fun 🥳
When she’s not cleaning teeth you can find her sewing🪡, traveling🛳️ (her favorite was a cruise in the Caribbean), having lunch with her girlfriends🥗, learning about dinosaurs from her 3 year old grandson 🦖🦕, motorcycle rides with her husband 🏍️, fishing or boating! 🎣
Favorite food: hot roast beef & mash potatoes, cheesecake, & corn casserole 🤤
Fun fact: She has a scarf made from her fathers parachute from WWll🪂
This past Monday, April 6th, she celebrated her 47th Wedding Anniversary! They were married 4/6/1979 at First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls. 💒💍
Her marriage advice is:
• Always laugh everyday
• Be gentle with words & actions
• maintain your own identity & friendships
We are grateful to have such a caring, friendly, & knowledgeable hygentist in our office! Thank you for all you do & just for being you! 🪥🫶🏻
