Most people saw the floss back and forth like a handsaw. That misses the real problem areas.

Here's the right way:
Wrap floss around each tooth in a C-shape. Slide it gently below the gumline. Move it up and down—not side to side—against the tooth surface.
Do both sides of every tooth.

Here's how to keep it clean in 30 seconds:

After brushing, rinse your toothbrush under hot water for 15 seconds. Shake off excess water and store it upright in open air.

Never cover it or lay it flat. Bacteria love dark, moist spaces.

Replace your brush every 3 months or when bristles fray.

Bonus tip: Keep your toothbrush at least 6 feet from the toilet. Yes, really.
