We're officially halfway through the year. If you have dental insurance, now is a good time to check in on your benefits. 📆

Most plans run January through December — any unused benefits don't carry over, they just disappear. Routine cleanings and exams are typically covered at 100% or close to it. If you've been putting off a crown, a filling, or something you've already been quoted for, summer is a smart time to get it done.

It's National Toothbrush Day, and we're not going to let it pass without saying something. 🪥

Your toothbrush should be replaced every three months — or sooner if the bristles are frayed. A worn-out brush doesn't clean effectively, no matter how long you use it. Soft bristles are almost always the right choice; medium and hard bristles wear down enamel and irritate gums faster. And two minutes, twice a day, is the standard — most people brush for about 45 seconds. Set a timer once and you'll see what we mean.
