It is such a privilege to provide specialized support to patients with complex cases in local offices. Today was particularly rewarding - showing a patient that oral surgery does not have to be painful and can be fun 😜

I am so grateful for the amazing team that supports me and helped give this sweet lady the care she deserved to feel safe and comfortable while we got busy restoring her smile 🥹

It is incredible that was able to produce such a spot-on result from nothing but a well-executed Jaw Relation Record (gotta take credit for accurate records… 😉, but it takes an incredible amount of skill and experience to produce the outcome they did with so little 🙌).

For my nerdy dental buds, check the saggital of those tilted and pterys… RIDING those walls… 😮‍💨🥵😜.g.dmd.omfs .vlad.shukruta .paulgundian

…From the (5mmx5mm) window to the the wall(s… ALL OF THE WALLS).

Caldwell Luc (lateral window access) sinus augmentation is one of my favorite procedures.
When the maxillary sinuses become too large, they create an empty room of air right where we would need bone for dental implant anchorage. Creating a small window to fill this empty space with bone to be used in the future, is a wonderful technique to provide a solution when dental implants would otherwise be impossible.

If your surgeon has enough experience with managing qualitative deficiencies he can probably even place dental implants at the same time he grafts the sinus, which can shave off a good 6-8 months and prevent additional surgery 😎

Incredibly grateful to be able to provide solutions that restore self-confidence, nutritional systemic health, and enjoyment of food for patients, regardless of how complex their problems might be.

This particular case was a bad day for this patient when she came into my office because her bridge felt weird… so much to talk about out when considering her issue (a fractured tilted implant 😳)… unfortunately her large pneumatized sinus prevented ideal bone for an immediate replacement of this tilted implant- meaning she no longer had the support she needed to have teeth on the left side of her mouth 😳)

This patient and I are both incredibly grateful for Dr who I have been so fortunate to have as a mentor. The instruction he has given me has made such an immeasurable impact in the lives of so many of my patients who I have been able to take care of in circumstances where few others would have been capable of meeting their needs.

Honored to receive this gracious message from the bright young doctoral student .
It’s impressive to witness his dedication to his education and the embodiment of Jesuit values he demonstrates in humanitarian service with our small group in the DR. I am so grateful for the traditional values and extremely high standards at Creighton University that have helped me become the doctor I am today. It is a privilege to have opportunities to give back and share the knowledge I have been taught by great doctors like . 🙏🙏🙏

“91 but feeling like 95!” 😂

I don’t think there are many people that can really relate to what either of those ages feels like, but based on this guy’s attitude, the older you are, the better it gets?! ❤️

I’m so grateful for the patients that bring so much positivity into my day and make my job so fun and rewarding 🙏

Make it a beautiful day! Make life beautiful!

One of the last cases of 23 with a bonus “spare tire” bone anterior and posterior to the sinus septum.
PATZI protocol accomplished with PFAST anchorage and traditional AO4 Md. None of these cases is ever “easy”, as there always seems to be some curve ball, be it bone density, pathological/morphological defects, patient medical complexity, patient behavior complexity, patient compliance… but every case is rewarding. Participating in complex orthognathic prosthetic rehabilitation is extremely fulfilling and rewarding. I thank God for the capacities I have developed, the mentors who have shared so much knowledge and experience, and the patients I have become friends with.

I owe it to my patients to be the best surgeon available. The learning and professional development never ends. I am extremely grateful for collegiate leaders who dedicate themselves to raising the standard of care through generous peer mentorship. .g.dmd.omfs, , , , , , , are a few of the best of the best and their contribution to clinical advancement and education is improving patient care worldwide. God bless these giants.

This case of generalized severe chronic periodontitis left this poor guy in poor shape. “Floating teeth” with such significant inflammation the body had nearly pushed all of the teeth out of the bone for me. Very grateful to have been able to provide him the most ideal outcome possible for removing chronic disease, restoring a functional masticatory system to support a healthy diet, and a smile to be proud of!

This case got off to a rough start with a very rambunctious delirium as the patient responded not so favorably to sedatives. I could not be more grateful for my amazing team of insanely talented and caring assistants that helped get everything on track for us to accomplish the surgery and prosthetic conversion. I had my doubts for a moment, but we were able to tackle a big job today :D
Infection removed, optimal implant anchorage for fixed maxillary and removable mandibular prostheses, and a happy guy with a best case scenario outcome :)

Grateful for my team, grateful for my patients, grateful for the ability I have been blessed with to do what I am able to do.

Happy weekend!

It is a disservice to patients to provide overdenture implant surgery without alternative prosthetic consideration.

As the implant surgery is the foundation for all future implant retained and/or supported prostheses, consideration of all future prosthetic options should dictate implant placement to reduce surgical morbidity, surgical redundancy, and patient cost for later prosthetic demands.

Simply, prosthetic space and prosthetic support (platform position) should be optimal in every implant surgery.

has been a pioneer in implant prosthetics and leads the way again, with the MUA locator, allowing for tilted implant positions, increased locator AP support, and prosthetic conversion from implant retained prosthesis (REMOVABLE) to implant supported prosthesis (FIXED) without additional surgery.

LODIs (minis) were used in this case for immediate locator retention while the tissue heals around the conventional implants where locator abutments will be placed for future overdenture.
This patient’s available resources only allow for removable prosthesis, however should she ever elect for a fixed prosthetic option in the future she will require no additional surgery due to intentional planning and ideal surgery.

Clinical longevity of oral rehabilitation is 100% dependent upon harmony in surgical precision, prosthetic planning, and responsible hygienic compliance.

This sweet lady is in good hands for a long lasting smile and food munching machine :D
