Sooo, Allison, one of our hygienists was a rock star for a while …. Well, she went off and decided to be a dentist. I absolutely love her motivation, and I congratulate her regularly. What many people don’t recognize is NONE of us dental nerds are who we are without our village. I want to personally congradulate David on his achievements. And wish nothing but future success. Grad school sucks btw. I’m a pro. I know! lol. Get it!!! You’re gonna crush it dude!!

We are thrilled to welcome David Warren, a new graduate assistant! David holds degrees from Berry College and the University of Georgia, and will be pursuing a DMA in wind conducting at USC. He has taught high school in Georgia and Illinois, and was a member and later director of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps. Welcome David!

It’s that time of year when Dr. Forrest gets to brag on his alma mater’s cheerleading program, UWG, to which he cheered and competed.

Those amazing athletes and coaches are returning home from UCA nationals with 4, yes 4!!!, national championships!!! Their all-girl stunt group, all-girl team, co-ed team, and the inaugural performance team, small co-ed all taking top marks in their divisions!

Such a great day to be a Wolf! (Braves for those of us that went there back then 😆)

Congrats teams!! Gold looks good on you! One proud alumni over here!

Dr. Forrest here ... I'm so happy that the most recent hurricane missed us by a hair and we received just a decent amount of rain. I hope you all faired it well, or with limited disruption. I'd like to share something with my dental family and my patients.

As many of you know, and the other many that have asked along the way about where I was from, I grew up in the mountains of North Carolina. The hurricane did not have lots of wind, but immense amounts of rain!

I have lots of family and friends there have been severely affected by the storms. My brother, in Greenville, SC, showed me pictures of him and his neighbors cutting trees just so he could make it to the hospital, as he is a pediatric RN at a local hospital up there and one of very few businesses with power.

I was sent a video of my small hometown (Hendersonville, NC) literally under water. I saw a McDonalds sign and I couldn't even recognize where in town that was.

I saw a video of my college town in Boone, NC ... under water. I have friends that have been stranded at their homes on top of mountains in the area accessible from one road only, which is impassable.

I almost left my own family here in Carrollton this weekend to travel to them to help in any capacity I could. I did not however. I am here, with my family, with my dental family, with my office family, and my community family. The state dept of NC advised any travels to western NC right now as there are many impassable roads, lack of power to 100's of thousands of homes/businesses, and really questionable cellular service. Overall, not a very safe area to be.

I say this all, if you have read this far, I am here! I am present. I will still take care of you to the best of ability. But, if you are to ask about this matter, do not be surprised if i get upset/emotional as this is weighing on me. I know this too shall pass, however.

As a very close friend/family member told me, "I know you have so many fears and feel trapped ... you just have to Pray David".

Thank you all for reading. Please add western NC to your prayers. And if any of you all have family and/or friends there, I will continue to pray for them as well!

Dr Forrest took some time today to hang out with his daughter’s kindergarten class at Carrollton Elementary discussing different jobs around the community, while promoting oral health. Turns out, the kids just liked playing with the funny glasses! 🤦‍♂️😜😂

Good news is they all said they brush their teeth at night and morning! Was definitely a nice little break in the middle of the day.

So Dr. Forrest did a thing. Last week he formally accepted his fellowship at the Academy of General Dentistry (after finally getting to go bc of family and kiddos and other obligations - not mad about it). An award given after 500+ hrs of continuing hours of education in the field of general dentistry (he has wayyyy more than that, just sayin), a grueling written exam, and actually being present for the award. Then drove 20hrs home to be with his family bc of that crazy security thing, and to make sure his pts were cared for.

Dr. F here - I love my patients. I love what I do. I love taking care of those that trust me in their most vulnerable state. I’m always trying to better my self. So thank you! This award is a stepping stone to continue to help take care you and continue to learn my craft. So. THANK YOU all. 😎 I don’t have a career without you all.

Many of our patients know Dr Forrest was a UWG cheerleader alum…No surprise there (3 national rings , a small plug). What they don’t know is when he was long gone and graduated, Coach Nicole came in and continues to help shape, mold, and develop groups of young men and women to the highest level in the cheer world to win MULTIPLE MULTIPLE national titles! He's proud of the college he came from. Even more proud and honored of the program we've seen be developed under Nicole's stewardship. Nicole and Brian are rock stars and deserve every bit of accolades.

CARROLLTON, Ga. - As the University of West Georgia Department of Athletics continues its elevation to Division I, Head Cheerleading Coach Nicole Nichols has been elevated to a full-time coaching position.
