Sensitive teeth can really be a pain. Not only do they hurt, but they make enjoying the little things such as hot, cold, sweet, or sour foods and drinks unbearable. Even breathing in cold air can hurt!

Many things can cause sensitive teeth, such as a cavity, a cracked or chipped tooth, a worn filling, gum disease, and more. But don’t worry, you aren’t doomed to a life of pain forever! Here are a few things that can help:
1. Use desensitizing toothpaste that is made specifically for sensitive teeth.
2. Use a soft bristled toothbrush that will be less damaging to your tooth enamel.
3. Avoid acidic foods and drinks that can eat away at your tooth enamel.
4. Add fluoride into your daily life through specific toothpaste, supplements, or even your normal diet.
5. Visit your dentist to make sure your gums are as healthy as possible.
6. Talk to your dentist about dental varnishes and coatings to give your teeth an extra layer of protection.

Ready to tackle the cause of your sensitive teeth? Send us a message or give us a call at (972) 416 - 8204 to schedule your complimentary consultation!

Oof. Wisdom tooth pain is no fun! 😣

While some may never experience any issues with their wisdom teeth, many people experience reoccurring issues including inflammation, sore gums, increased sinus pressure, headaches, even bad breath! Here are some common FAQs about wisdom teeth 👇👇

Q: How do I know if my wisdom teeth are coming in?

Typically, wisdom tooth pain is linked with slight inflammation as the teeth "shift". This can lead to increased pressure on your teeth causing headaches and sore gums. Symptoms should be temporary and settle down after a few days. If you notice your pain isn't going away, or is getting worse, it is probably time to call your dentist 🧑‍⚕️.

Q: What are impacted wisdom teeth?

A: Wisdom teeth emerge after all your other adult teeth. Unfortunately, these teeth sometimes come in sideways, impacting your molars and potentially causing a whole bunch of issues. The best way to know if you have an impacted wisdom tooth is to have your dentist take an x-ray during your next appointment.

Q: When should I get my wisdom teeth removed?

A: Everyone is different. While some of us will go through life with no issues, others may not have the same pleasant experience. It's recommended to get your wisdom teeth out between the ages 18-24. After the root has fully developed and before the wisdom teeth can cause any major issues.

Talk to your dentist about when you should get your wisdom teeth removed during your next check up!
