Yesterday Dr. Hurst delivered T-Shirts to Tessa Riley- Principal and got to meet Principal Riley! Each year he gives each and every elementary school student in the Carlsbad School District a shirt to start off the school year and wear to the parade. We can’t believe summer is already coming to end but luckily we live in the most beautiful place on Earth!

On Thursday, July 23rd we had our 19th annual Patient Appreciation Day @ The Wave Waterpark! It was 80 degrees outside with clear blue skies- it couldn’t have been more of a perfect day to spend time in the water and enjoy some ice cream cake. We hope you all had as much fun as we did! Congratulations to the 25 Hurst Ortho Beach Bag winners, seeing all of your smiles was worth it! Get ready for next year as we will be celebrating 20 years of celebrating at The Wave Waterpark

Contrary to every retainer-wearing law, we believe it’s safer to leave our retainers at home during beach days rather than losing them while riding the big waves. Just don’t forget to put them back in after your big day in the sun.

As much as we love to hear that you’ve been great at wearing those retainers, we are heartbroken to hear when they get lost in the ocean. Have a great summer everyone! 🌊 ☀️

It’s Transformation Toothsday! This 11 year-old has 8 more deciduous (baby) teeth left. Once our patients are done with Phase 1 of braces, they receive upper and lower removable retainers- they are able to be adjusted to allow baby teeth to fall out as well as for adult teeth to grow in.

The funnest part about this- our retainers a fully customizable! Check out our “retainers!!!” Highlight on our page to see some really cool designs that we have here at our office!

Looks like this patient will be receiving a visit from the Tooth-Fairy tonight!

When in braces, your teeth will still fall out- just in a different way! If this occurs, give us a call and we can remove the color tie to let that tooth come off of the wire.

Fun fact: The permanent tooth underneath the baby tooth causes the root to dissolve- which helps the baby tooth become loose!
