It’s Transformation Toothsday! This 11 year-old has 8 more deciduous (baby) teeth left. Once our patients are done with Phase 1 of braces, they receive upper and lower removable retainers- they are able to be adjusted to allow baby teeth to fall out as well as for adult teeth to grow in.

The funnest part about this- our retainers a fully customizable! Check out our “retainers!!!” Highlight on our page to see some really cool designs that we have here at our office!

Looks like this patient will be receiving a visit from the Tooth-Fairy tonight!

When in braces, your teeth will still fall out- just in a different way! If this occurs, give us a call and we can remove the color tie to let that tooth come off of the wire.

Fun fact: The permanent tooth underneath the baby tooth causes the root to dissolve- which helps the baby tooth become loose!

I spy… Supernumery teeth! Can you spot them?

Go to the next slide to take a look. Only 1-3% of people have these extra teeth, they come in a variety of unique shapes ranging from perfect replicas of teeth to small, peg-like structures.

These ones were removed to prevent them from stopping the 2nd adult molars from coming down.

We wanted to give a huge thank you to Ms.Bokor and her students for sending us the most adorable and thoughtful letters🥹 We read every single one of them and our hearts are so happy🩵🦷

Dr. Hurst spends the month of February teaching youngsters how to brush and floss properly in honor of Dental Health Month. With this comes a kit with a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and a super cute pen- which apparently was a huge hit this year!

Thank you so much for having us and let’s do our best to keep all of our teeth pearly white! See you next year!

Believe it or not, today is the first day of Spring! (not Summer??) This weather has been absolutely beautiful along the coast- we are all so lucky to be living here! ☀️ 🏖️

Today we decorated for our new contest and felt like sharing how bright and refreshing the office is looking. We are ready for longer days, blooming flowers, and enjoying time at the beach! But most of all, we look forward to seeing all of your beautiful smiles in the office!

Say hello to our…. Schwartz Appliance!

This device is used to expand the lower arch and create space for the permanent teeth. A tiny little key turns the screw in the center of the appliance to slowly separate the two halves of the expander, and in this case this one has been successfully expanded!

At this point we no longer need the appliance, which means this patient got their braces put on!

At age 5, there is so much happening beneath the surface! This patient currently has all her “baby” teeth in and typically, the bottom front teeth will come out around 6-7. Then the big two front teeth up top will fall out shortly after.

The cute little “tooth buds” below the surface are the adult teeth- they’re slowly but surely growing and waiting for their time to shine! By age 13 those pearly whites will be on duty full time!! ✨🦷🩵

Yesterday was our first day back in the office, and we were stunned with the beautiful sunset that we saw through our windows. One definitely worth smiling for! 2026 is set off to be a great one!
