How Dr. Castro has made an impact:
Smiles of Cardiff by the Sea, led by Dr. Christine Castro, demonstrated an outstanding commitment to improving children’s oral health in 2025 through local and global initiatives focused on underserved communities.
The practice provided free comprehensive dental care—including exams, cleanings, and preventive treatments—to uninsured and underinsured children through participation in local events in North County San Diego. Dr. Castro’s team delivered interactive oral health education at Title I elementary schools, teaching proper brushing, flossing, and nutrition in an engaging, age-appropriate format.
They also offered pro bono dental services quarterly for children referred by the local community and care agencies, helping establish lasting dental homes for vulnerable youth.
Beyond the local community, Philanthropist, Dr. Castro extended her impact through 37C Charities (Thirty-Seven Degrees Charities), a nonprofit dedicated to global pediatric oral health. In 2025, she coordinated a charitable outreach at Polocate Elementary School in Aklan, Philippines, where her team distributed dental hygiene kits, provided oral health education, and supported community recognition and meal services for children. This integration of dental care into broader humanitarian efforts reflects a deep, sustained commitment to equity in oral health for children—both near and far.
37 °C Charities partnered with other non-profit charities for a mission trip focused on community outreach & healthcare services to underserved communities not only in Mexico, but also including the indigenous Aetas people in Barangay Camias, the Village of Santa Rita, and Barangay 81 in Caloocan.

During this season we’ve been looking back at the wonderful things we’ve been able to accomplish with all your help. Just this past weekend, 37C Charities had a great time in Pasig City in the Philippines, what joy to see the community come out and join 37C in a service to honor the spirit of giving during this Merry season.
With the enthusiasm of the Jollibee mascot, joyful and jolly times were had with meals distributed to all.

We’d like to thank Dr. Packer and Dr. Hsu for always taking care of our patients.

A big thanks to Dr. Packer Encinitas Endodontics Specialists for the delicious Danish Kringle, it was the perfect treat to welcome the fall season.

A warm thanks to Dr. Hsu Sicathsu Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery for the lip balms, face masks, persimmons and avocados, we are calm and refreshed.
