COVID-19 Update March 15, 2020
To our dental family, friends, neighbors and co-workers:
I just wanted to reach out to all of you to inform you of the recent events. As all of you are probably aware, our state has been affected by the COVID-19 coronavirus. My intention is to inform you of the many steps our practice is taking to continue to provide the best care for you as we continue to navigate this situation. I understand that fear and panic often stem from the unknown. I want to assure you that we are 100% COMMITTED to minimizing the risks to you, my awesome dental team, myself, as well as our families and community.
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS AND PROTOCOLS WILL BE IN PLACE AT AMISON DENTAL GROUP:
Unless otherwise stated, we are currently OPEN to see you during our current, regularly scheduled hours, which are Monday 9-7, Tuesday 8-5, Wednesday 10-7, and Thursday 7-5. Any changes to these hours will be communicated to you as quickly as possible.
New text-to-chair protocol. When you arrive for your scheduled appointment, please call or text us at 330-452-2255 to inform us that you are here. To avoid having patients and companions waiting together in our reception room, we will either call or text you back right away to either confirm that your scheduled treatment room and chair are completely disinfected and ready for you...or ask you to sit in the comfort of your car until your chair is ready. Once ready, we will call or text you and take you straight back to your chair with no waiting.
Our normal universal infection control protocols already exceed all state and federal guidelines, which include the elimination of infectious bacteria and viruses, including COVID-19. In addition, we are taking extra measures to protect you, which include wiping the doors and restrooms after each patient. We are also minimizing aerosol creation during dental treatment including the use of high evacuation suction and minimizing the use of out Cavitron.
If you or someone in your family is currently or has experienced any symptoms of illness (including fever, cough, sore throat, or chills) or other flu-like symptoms during the last 14 days before your scheduled appointment, please notify us as soon as possible. We will happily reschedule your appointment for at least three weeks out. Of course, you will not incur a broken appointment fee.
If you have been advised by a health care professional to ‘self quarantine’ yourself due to a recent travel or potential exposure to COVID-19 or others who have had potential exposure to the virus, please let us know right away. We will reschedule your appointment at least two weeks after the end date of your self quarantine period. Once again, you will not incur a missed appointment fee.
My ENTIRE dental team, including myself are under strict orders to monitor our own health and any signs of illness. In the event that anyone from my team experiences any symptoms of illness, that person must obtain a medical clearance from a physician before returning to our office. This may cause our schedule to be adjusted according to available doctors and/or team members.
I know this was a very long message, but I wanted to let you know that our dental practice takes your trust in us VERY seriously. This is a fluid situation and things may change throughout the next few weeks. One thing that won’t change is our commitment to protecting the health of our dental family and community.
We are a strong and resilient community. Together we WILL get through this. If you have any questions, please call or text us at 330-452-2255 or email us at [email protected]. Have a great day.
Regards,
Brian Amison, DDS
