Happy October!
"In October, We Wear Pink"
My name is Christy Flood, I am a Dental Hygienist here at Roth Family Dentistry. I am a recent Breast Cancer Survivor. On October 21, 2024 I received the news "you have Breast Cancer". I was diagnosed with Stage 1 G3 IDC PR+/ER+ HER2- breast cancer. I underwent surgery in November 2024, followed by chemo therapy in January, February, March 2025 and then 20 rounds of radiation. I am currently in remission (almost 5 months). Although I am finished with "active treatment", the fight continues with medication, side effects, on going tests and appointments, and the possibility of recurrence. I am blessed with an army of prayer warriors that fight with me; my family and friends, my patients, and my work family have overwhelmed me with love and support. Above all, my faith is what keeps me going!
Breast Cancer Awareness month looks a little different this year. My encouragement to all of you is to support local organizations, share the awareness, wear pink, encourage routine mammograms, and most importantly, be a light to those that are fighting the fight. Be kind! You never know what someone might be facing.
