Gearing up for the holiday break with the kids at home all day everyday!!!! Minimizing devices for all family members is not easy, but worth it for our physical and mental health. ❤️

Screentime picks up a lot over the holidays: from playing new video games, keeping up with friends on social media, to binge-watching your holiday favorites. Check out these tips if you’re looking for ways to manage your family’s media use while everyone’s home over the break:
🗣️ Keep open lines of communication between you and your child about media. Encourage them to ask questions about technology and their relationship with it.

✅ Set your family up for success by setting and communicating media expectations at the beginning of break. Set these standards for the entire family.

📺 Watch a movie together or take the time to play your child’s favorite game. It can be a great conversation starter about topics like mental health, friend drama or what it feels like to be a kid these days.

📴 Model with your own media device how your children should be using them (or not using them) while on break.

👪 Make time for activities that do not include technology.
