It’s been so long since I’ve posted! Life has been keeping me busy, with 2 teenagers, busy practice, and trying to make time for a lot of self-care.

Here is a crack dissection case that I did a little while ago. In retrospect and in looking at my photos, I could have gone deeper, and chased that crack more. Maybe I wasn’t feeling so brave at the time. Using ’s 6 Lessons Approach, I am hopeful that this patient’s tooth will remain unsymptomatic!

Happy ! I loved the outcome of this case. Using ’s Six Lessons Approach, I biomimetically restored this premolar with a lithium disilicate restoration. I’m so thrilled to be able to do this type of dentistry for my patients!

Happy hump day! This was a great case on a couple of asymptomatic teeth. Large existing fillings and years of bruxism led to these fractures in the PSZ. Using ’s Six Lessons Approach, I biomimetically restored these with a stress-reduced direct composite as well as a lithium disilicate porcelain onlay. My only frustration was the curling up of the Ribbonds even after placing them dry. Hopefully these restorations will be built to last!

Is still a thing? This was a great example of “occlusal effect caries”, but was it from lack of flossing? Not necessarily! This patient is actually a great, diligent flosser. However, this tooth, with its large amalgam filling, developed a crack as it flexed and moved. That crack opened and closed, allowing biofilm to accrue. Patience, gold standard materials, fiber, and time to the rescue. I could have added more anatomy, but following ’s 6 Lessons Approach, I biomimetically restored this tooth and I know it will be built to last!

Stressed reduced direct composite for a large carious lesion. This was an asymptomatic tooth but like mentioned, I had to make sure this patient had realistic expectations. I like showing the patients their photos as I believe not only does it educate them, but it adds value to the service I provide.

Following ’s 6 Lessons Approach, I biomimetically restored this tooth and hopefully it will be built to last!

It was so fun to audit a mastership class this morning! Lesson 4 is so tricky and mind-blowing! It was great to meet some new members of the biomimetic family.

Here is a case I just finished. Asymptomatic, broken ML cusp on a molar with a huge amalgam. I elected to restore the buccal pit with composite and place the margin on that. I used ’s Six Lessons Approach to biomimetically restore this tooth, flaring my margins and saucerizing my prep, placing fiber and plenty of layered Delibits, decoupling with time, to reduce C-factors.

I can’t believe I am finishing up my year-long mastership program with ! I am so grateful to .patrick.calalang for all their guidance, support and education. I am also grateful to all my classmates and everyone in the BRD family!

This patient presented with a large existing white filling that had fractures around it and decay underneath. There was decay present on the adjacent molar as well. During the procedure, I elected to save some tooth structure on the molar by not breaking through the marginal ridge. By using ’s Six Lessons Approach to biomimetically restore this tooth, I am quite happy with the results!

This was a fun case where I was able to preserve some precious tooth structure for this patient. Instead of extending my margin buccally to include the buccal pit, I elected to restore that pit with composite first and then place my margin on that. I was also wanting to save that beefy DL cusp, trusting my bonding protocols since it is a tension cusp. Using ’s Six Lessons Approach to biomimetically restore this tooth, hopefully it will be built to last a long time for this patient.
