This summer, ForsythKids partnered with to provide preventive dental care to campers. The team helped kids head into the school year with healthier smiles and stronger habits, while building connections that support long-term health.

This week, the AFI community came together to assemble goodie bags filled with essential oral healthcare supplies. These will be distributed to children at sites visited by ForsythKids throughout the year. This event also served as a farewell to our current building as we prepare to transition to our new, state-of-the-art research facility in Somerville in just a few days!

ForsythKids wishes you all a happy National Children’s Dental Health Month. We are excited to have been a part of the ADA Foundation’s Give Kids A Smile kickoff at Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville, Tennessee!

We look forward to another year of providing dental care and oral health education to children who need it most in New England and beyond through ADA Forsyth’s ForsythKids program and through our partnership with ADA Foundation’s Give Kids a Smile Program.

The ForsythKids team recently had the incredible opportunity to volunteer at an event hosted by Team Smile and the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium. The day was filled with fun and purpose, as the team helped provide essential dental care to underserved children from local/Boston area schools. ForsythKids contributed in many ways, from ensuring smooth overall operations to delivering preventive care, including exams, X-rays, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants. We can’t wait to be part of this amazing event again next year!

ForsythKids, in partnership with Delta Dental of Massachusetts, is expanding its school-based dental care in Canton, MA, bringing preventative services to even more children for the 2024-25 school year. With $18,000 in funding, ForsythKids offers free care and oral health education to kids in underserved communities. This initiative continues the ADA Forsyth Institute’s mission to improve access to dental care for all children. Read the full press release for more details at the link in our bio!

ForsythKids had the incredible opportunity to wrap up the summer and provide free oral care to campers at Camp Harbor View in Boston. is a summer camp and year-round support program for over 1,000 young Bostonians and their families. We are proud to work together with Camp Harbor View to build healthy communities by ensuring kids get the dental care they need, right where they live, learn, and play.

A couple of weeks ago ForsythKids had the honor of participating in the Black Family Wellness Expo put on by at the historic in Roxbury. It was a great community health-focused event where ForsythKids volunteers were able to provide Dental Education + Free Dental kits to the hundreds of families who attended the event. Thank you to our amazing volunteers, hosts, and all who came to the event!

This February Forsyth Kids attended two great Give Kids a Smile events, pictured here: The Give Kids a Smile kickoff in D.C. with and . As well as the Give Kids a Smile event. These events were both excellent occasions for Forsyth Kids to partner with other outstanding dental organizations that provide dental care to children in need. 🙌

An average of 41% of children ForsythKids screens at our sites have untreated decay, which is significantly higher than the 13% national average of untreated tooth decay in children, according to the CDC. The importance of preventive oral health care measures like fluoride varnish and sealants cannot be overstated for children in our underserved communities. In the 2022-2023 school year, ForsythKids provided care (including dental screenings, fluoride varnish, cleanings and sealants, and education) to over 3,250 children in 68 preschool programs, elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, summer camps, transitional housing facilities, and drop-in shelters. The children in the communities we serve, including Boston, Brighton, Lynn, Somerville, Cambridge, Randolph, Hull, Dennis-Yarmouth, Holyoke, Waltham, and Canton, would otherwise have been without vital preventive care. This school year, ForsythKids is on track to provide care and education to at least as many children as last year. 📈

February is and we are making the most of it! This week we brought mobile dental care to kids at Bridge Boston Charter School, Match Charter School, and Aborn Elementary School. We’ll get right back to it next week with another batch of schools.
