Appalachian Family Dentistry

A native of Mitchell County, Dr. Kyle Duncan, is returning to the mountains of western North Carolina to provide dental care to our community. Dr. Duncan graduated from Mitchell High School and began his educational career right here at Mayland Community College where he received an Associate Degree in Arts. He then transferred to Appalachian State University where he received a Bachelor of Scienc

e in biology and excelled in his studies, graduating Summa Cum Laude and earning the distinction of being elected "Outstanding Senior" of his graduating class by the university faculty members. Dr. Duncan then accepted an offer to attend dental school at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine and was honored to receive the Phillips Family Foundation scholarship, which provided funding for all four years of his dental education. During his time at ECU he continued to excel in his studies and upon graduation was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a prestigious national dental honors society. Throughout dental school Dr. Duncan learned to practice dentistry from expert faculty and was trained in cutting edge research and techniques. Dr. Duncan is excited about returning to the mountains and practicing in Burnsville at Appalachian Family Dentistry, under the mentorship of Dr. John Renfro.
