nic for children 0-21 years of age living in Alamance or Caswell County, North Carolina. The clinic’s mission is to improve oral health with a specific emphasis on prevention, dental health education, and comprehensive dental care for the underserved, low-income children and adolescents residing in the county. Cleaning, fluoride treatment, infant oral care, tooth brushing/flossing instruction, nutrition counseling, sealants, fillings, crowns, extractions and emergency treatment are all services provided to residents. The clinic serves all residents regardless of income, s*x, race, national origin, religion, handicapped status, or source of referral. Charges are based on family income and Medicaid and some insurance plans are accepted. The clinic is staffed with two full-time dentists, one office manager, one dental hygienist, five dental assistants, three front desk staff, one interpreter, and one financial specialist. Since its establishment in 1998, this clinic has continued to address the need for better access to dental hygiene services in the community, which has led to overall health improvements.
