Today we had our last day with Miranda as a regular team member. 💓 I still have the email from Miranda in June 2024 with subject “Future Darling Dentistry Volunteer” that always made me smile. 😊 She has always been so kind and passionate in this field and with our patients. I am grateful she selected my office to grow in. We will certainly miss her but are so happy and excited for her as she goes on maternity leave due soon with her baby boy 👶💙 and continues to pursue her dream of becoming a dentist. 🦷👩‍⚕️🫶🏼🤩👏🏼🤗

While we always encourage patients to reach out to us with any questions or concerns about their care, as often as possible I like to reach out after procedures to make sure all is well. 🫶🏼
This is the response I received this morning from one of our great patients. Tom is a wonderful patient who is always so kind and always making our whole team laugh. He says he is so glad I am his dentist, and I am also truly filled with gratitude myself. 🙏🏼

Four years ago today, my scratch start-up practice Darling Dentistry opened its doors. 🥹 I popped the balloon, and it felt fitting because it sometimes just be like that. 😝
When I graduated dental school, dentistry really wasn’t what I expected it to be. As a new dentist, I found myself in environments that didn’t align with my beliefs regarding patient care. I wanted to take my time, listen, build relationships, and provide compassionate, ethical, patient-centered care. I learned quickly that unfortunately not every practice shares these priorities.
After going down many different avenues, I ultimately decided I needed to create my own practice from scratch in order to provide the ideal patient experience.
It can be a scary path growing something from nothing, starting in a deficit, wearing so many hats, making so many decisions, while also trying to balance the rest of life. In fact, this is the first year Darling Dentistry has been profitable, as of this point. 🙏
But, every day at my practice I get to work with an amazing team who truly cares. We get to help people overcome dental fear, get out of pain, gain confidence, and provide the kind of experience I always hoped healthcare could be. 💗
To every person who has trusted us with their care, referred someone, took the time to leave a kind review, or supported us in any way- it is because of you this has been possible. 🥰 I greatly appreciate you all!

I’ll never forget a patient who told me I saved her life through oral healthcare. The way that oral health can impact self-esteem and mental health is incredible, not to mention overall body health at times, as well. Please know there are always options, you’re never too old, and it’s never too late. 🤍
If you’re fearful, overwhelmed, or anxious about dental care, please feel free to reach out even if you have questions. 🤗 At Darling Dentistry we welcome all without judgment, we do everything we can to make our patients comfortable, and we customize plans to each individual. Each and every step is progress, and we commend that. 💓 We also offer a savings club and payment plan options to make quality care more accessible.
For those who need it there are also sliding scale income-based clinics in San Antonio such as Communicare and Centromed, lower cost care with dental students at UT Health, and charitable care for those who qualify at the San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic.
Even at home there are habits you can work toward to lower your risk and enhance your prevention. There is a lot of free advice online, but be sure to take guidance from licensed dentists so you practice safe, effective habits. 🫶🏼

I created my practice from scratch almost 4 years ago. I still fully own and manage my small practice. 🦷☺️ Through determination and hard work, help from a compassionate team, and our great community and patients, we are still standing and growing. 🥲💕
We have built a space that is not like a typical dental office, welcoming any and all people in without judgment, and always striving to serve each and every patient with an exceptional dental experience at every visit and high quality, ethical care.

If you’ve noticed I haven’t been posting as much, here is what I’ve been up to! 💃🏻Recital time is always one of my favorite times of the year. It takes me back, and it gives me the opportunity to work on something for a while, and then perform and share it. This year I did 7 performances, which took a lot of time and effort. 🥵 But I really loved them all, and I love how dance can convey so many different styles and emotions. 🥲🙂‍↔️😮
I am filled with so much gratitude- for my other dancers and friends I got to share this experience with, for my supporters and cheerleaders, and costume helpers, for flowers and other gifts I was given, for my amazing instructors/choreographers Bree Patrick (Solo, Black & Gold trio, and Musical Theatre Leveled Up), Mallorie Howe (Lyrical Leveled Up) Brooklyn Lopez (Beyoncè trio), Laura (Jazz Funk Leveled Up), Daren Rochelle (Spurs) and for my body being capable to carry me through still. It is physically and mentally challenging but in the best way. 🙏
This was my favorite instructor’s last recital with us before she moves, so I had to get in as much as I could with her while I could. 🥺
My friend told me her daughter thought it was so cool that I’m a dentist that dances, and she came to meet me after the show. 🥲
I’m grateful to have also reached so many patients through sharing dance and inviting everyone to feel comfortable coming to us no matter what their journey has looked like. 🤗
