We are honored to announce that Cotant Family Dentistry is participating in Saluting Smiles this Veterans Day! ❤️🤍💙

On November 11, 2026, free dental care will be provided to those who have served our country. Services include cleanings, fillings, extractions, X-rays, fluoride varnish, and limited denture repairs.

September is Office Manager Month. We hope these ladies feel the love our office has for them and all they do. These ladies have taken on every duty with a desire to do the best they can for every patient and the team. The care they have for the success of Cotant Family Dentistry is something you can’t teach, but a value they both possess.

Kimmy oversees all patient benefits, patient financials, credentialing the office, making sure licenses are renewed, ensuring all compliance for osha and Hippa standards are up to date, ensures pci compliance is met and the list goes on.

Angela tackles all the patient scheduling, referrals, scheduling staff, HR issues, is the first face you see when you come in the office, is the first person to pick up for all incoming calls, takes care of after hour messages and so much more.

These ladies deserve a huge thank you for all they do to take care of Dr. Cotant, the team, and the patients we serve.

Thank you ladies for being the best at what you do! We’d be lost without you!

Dr. Cotant is passionate about continuing to learn and expand the services he is able to offer his patients. One thing he knows is it can be difficult for patients when they are referred to a periodontist and have to drive at least 1.5 hours to the nearest one. He has taken several classes on providing some periodontal treatments for those patients that have to make a decision between saving or losing their teeth because they can’t travel for care.

In no way is he proclaiming to be a periodontist, and he is so thankful for the specialists he refers to and collaborates with. However, he wants all patients to have the option to save their teeth, even if they can’t travel.

If you have come to our office recently you have noticed a new face up front. Please help us welcome Angela Bissett to our office. Angela is our Patient Coordinator and Operations Manager.

Angela is not new to the dental world. She has 6 years of experience as a dental front office manager at a small, Maryland practice, where patients were truly treated like family. She brings a genuine passion for building relationships and providing exceptional customer service. She is dedicated to creating a warm, welcoming environment and ensuring every patient feels comfortable and has a positive experience.

Many still call the office asking for Becky, however she is phasing out from the dental world. She is back to her passion and profession, as a Director of Rehab at Cascades in Sheridan for Independence Rehab. She is confident Angela will take care of every patient need even better than she was able to. Kimmy Merritt, our financial coordinator, has taken on the role of compliance manager and is tackling everything involved in this role even better than Becky was able.

We are blessed with an amazing team, and are so thankful for the roles each team member plays to make us who we are.

Dr. Cotant continues to keep growing in his knowledge and understanding of how to help his patients. He just underwent an intensive certification for oral and facial pain. Who better to be his live patient models than his own staff and family!

Dr. Cotant was able to learn how to use Botox paired with trigger point injections to help those who struggle with chronic headaches, migraines, jaw pain, and so much more!

He also added to his learning how to use calcium hydroxylapatite to help with receding gums, which not only improves our gum health but also helps with sensitivity.

Dr. Cotant is excited to add these treatments to his skill set and help patients achieve overall health and pain management.

We had the chance to love on our hygiene team this past week. To say we are blessed is an understatement. These ladies love each patient just as much as Dr. Cotant does and desires to give their all to providing high quality, compassionate care.
