Good morning friends and patients of Fort View Dental. Given the significant ice, snow and wind in the forecast for tomorrow we will not be open. The safety of our patients and staff is most important to us and we want everyone to be safe. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will do everything possible to get any scheduled patients in as soon as possible. Good morning everybody! So this very friendly, talkative kitty has been hanging around the office for a few weeks now. No collar but he/she really likes people. If this is yours you can find them behind the office any morning. If they're not claimed one of us might have to adopt it!

So this happened last night. D.A. Robertson Enterprises (Anna and myself) are the new owners of the 154 Main st. Professional building! A big thanks to the crew at Bangor Savings, particularly Jake, Michael and Margo for all their help and patience. And a heartfelt thank you to Mr Bill Nichols for being a great and patient landlord for the last 6 years. Looks like we're here to stay! Many more announcements to come over the next few weeks. Thank you to everybody that made this possible especially our beloved patients! Have a great day everybody!

Dear friends and patients of Fort View Dental Hygiene and Bucksport Dentistry,
It is with tremendous frustration and disappointment that at this time we must announce a dramatic change in our operation. The Maine Dental Association president, Dr Rand, has met with DHHS and the results were not positive. Although 23 other states are practicing routine dentistry, our state leaders have decided to suspend all dentistry other than pain and emergency indefinitely. No re-opening date has been issued by Janet Mills, making Maine the only state in the country without a plan. The outrage this has created in the dental community is beyond measure and please understand we are doing everything in our power to lift this destructive decision. At FVD and Bucksport Dentistry we remain optimistic that eventually things will return to normal and will be in operating soon. In the meantime we will, of course, be open for business on an emergency basis and will have limited staff in the office throughout the week.
We appreciate your understanding and miss each and every one of you. Please understand we are doing everything we can to get back to business and thank you for your understanding throughout this catastrophic decision. We will see you all as soon as we are able. In the meantime, if time and schedule permits, feel free to email and contact your state and federal representatives and senators. In our area they are Kim Rosen and Dick Campbell. On the federal level they are Angus King and Susan Collins. Thank you and be safe.

Dear friends/patients of Fort View Dental,
In lieu of recent communication with the CDC and the recommendations from the Maine Dental Association, it is now time to make a difficult decision. Effective today, March 17th 2020 we will be joining most other dental offices in the state by suspending all dental hygiene appointments for a period of no less than 2 weeks. The office will still receive your phone calls for emergencies and emergency treatment will still be performed by Dr Atwell to alleviate pain.

This decision is being made to get ahead of this very contagious, fast moving disease. As soon as able, the office will resume operations to suit all your dental and dental hygiene needs. In order to accommodate what will be a very busy schedule upon reopening, extended hours and days of operating will be implemented.

We sincerely hope this does not negatively impact you in any way and ask for your understanding during these difficult times. Be safe, wash those hands, limit public gatherings and of course don't forget to floss! See all of you real soon!

Dear cherished patients/friends of Fort View Dental Hygiene and Bucksport Dentistry. I feel that it is now necessary to address the concerns you must have. We have no current plans to close for any period of time other than for our regular operating hours. Not only do we exercise infection control procedures above and beyond what is mandated, we have also been OSHA evaluated and are 100% compliant with all CDC protocol. Given the current climate of deep concern of sickness, please know that our office is likely the safest, most sterile place you'll visit on any given day. If any of our staff begins to show any symptoms of sickness, they will immediately be sent home to recover and all necessary precautions will be taken. If at any time you feel uncomfortable keeping your appointments, we will understand and gladly reappoint you as soon as you feel safe. Also, if you have any fever or flu like symptoms, please reschedule your appointment and give yourself the adequate time needed to recover fully. However brief this current situation may be, let's all get through it safely!
