To my loyal patients:
We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal daily routines.
While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: my personal commitment along with my assistants commitment to your utmost safety while you are receiving your dental care at our offices.
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practices and you have always seen this during your visits to our offices. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. Allow me to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practices to keep our patients and staff and families safe.
Our office follows infection control recommendations of the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the guidelines of these agencies and we are up-to-date on all the latest recommendations and procedures. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to these agencies recommendations as well as those that will now also be used at the College of Dentistry that I have been associated with for decades.
You may see some changes when it comes time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:
• We will communicate with you beforehand to ask you some recent health screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you arive at the office.
• We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office, as well as a pair of fresh gloves and new face mask to wear. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
• You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, brochures and so forth, since those items could prove difficult to keep disinfected.
• Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients as well as additional time to properly disinfect all areas between each patient’s visits.
We as your dental team will be wearing all the required and recommended Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) so we will look a little different to you when you initially see us. But you can trust that it’s still us under there in the new masks, gowns, gloves, headwear and footcoverings.
• We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
• We have purchased several air purifiers that are approved to provide clean and healthy air throughout our office as well as in the treatment rooms.
• We have purchased extra oral suction units to vacuum the aerosols that are produced from our dental handpieces during all dental treatment as well as dental cleanings.
You’re health, safety and comfort will always be at the forefront of our dental care that we provide for you.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient as well as ourselves and families safe in our dental practices.
To make an appointment, please call our office in Mill Basin Brooklyn at 718 763-7776 or our Manalapan New Jersey office at 732 432-1444.
Thank you for being our loyal patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming you back.
Sincerely,
Dr. Michael L. Cali
