If you ever wondered what a tooth nerve actually does…
It’s basically the tooth’s tiny alarm system 🦷

✨The nerve is actually part of the dental pulp, the soft tissue inside your tooth.
✨It contains nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue.
✨The nerve helps your tooth sense pain, pressure and temperature.
✨The hard outer layer of your tooth can’t feel pain on their own, the pulp is where the sensation comes from.
✨Once a tooth fully develops, the pulp isn’t essential for keeping the tooth alive, but it still plays an important role in sensing and defending the tooth.
✨And yes, that sharp pain from ice cream. Your tooth’s alarm system is definitely awake.
