Happy Friday Friends!
Tis the season for change and fall comfort. The leaves are shifting from varying shades of green to reds, oranges and yellows. The chiminea is out and crackling on the patio while the fragrance of the fresh made warm apple c***r fills the lobby. Dr. Bonine was back on the microphone this morning at WHMI, talking with Chuck and Madison about their Radiothon supporting United Way.
Dr. Bonine spoke about how the spirit of gifting has been such a core value for him in so many ways; always striving to create a better community.

With summer officially behind us and more cloudy days ahead, we want to take a moment and talk about the importance of Vitamin D. Most Michigan residents are deficient in Vitamin D, and low Vitamin D levels are correlated with tooth loss.

Happy Friday Friends!
This week we did our quarterly half day training session. It consisted of running drills, reviewing every medical emergency and preparing for any and all situations.
Dr. Bonine takes your health and safety very seriously. No one can predict a cardiac event but Dr. Bonine will be the pilot who lands on the Hudson.

Some exciting news! Dr Bonine is now on Staff at Chelsea Hospital!
Touring with the medical staff secretary, Gypsy.
Dr. Bonine will maintain his privileges in Livingston County as well but will now be taking any hospital required surgeries to the Chelsea Hospital.

A moment of silence in honor of September 11th, 2001.
We all remember where we were, what we were doing and how the air felt that day.
At exactly 8:46am the first plane crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center, then at 9:03 the South Tower of the World Trade center was hit. The towers then collapsed at 9:59am and 10:28am.
We will never forget. Patients and staff pause to remember. My.. how the world changed.

Happy Friday Friends!
This week we want to share a panoramic x-ray that we took showcasing a carotid blockage. We routinely find them on quality x-rays, but a carotid blockage can be life threatening! When we see them on x-ray, we promptly refer the patient to their physician for an ultrasound and additional testing.
Quality x-rays are crucial! It's about more than just checking for decay. While tooth decay is important to find, a quality x-ray can tell much more than just that!
The radiation received from this particular x-ray is equivalent to approximately 3 days of background radiation. While it is important to be mindful of radiation, the amount of radiation you receive in dental x-rays is such a minimal amount. Routine dental x-rays are a crucial part of not just your oral health but your total health.
