Big congratulations to Grace and Haley!
Some people spend their weekend relaxing. These two spent theirs in Bar Harbor learning how to save lives… because apparently being amazing dental assistants during the week was not enough.
Grace, our licensed Expanded Function Dental Assistant, and Haley, our dental assistant and licensed Dental Radiographer, recently completed advanced emergency training through Mount Desert Island Hospital / MDI Hospital.
They are now trained in:
Basic Life Support — BLS
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support — ACLS
Pediatric Advanced Life Support — PALS
These courses go far beyond checking the box of the required Basic Life Support training our clinical dental team maintains.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support builds on Basic Life Support skills and focuses on high-performance team response during serious cardiovascular emergencies.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support focuses on recognizing and responding to pediatric emergencies, including respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest.
They completed online preparation, pre-course testing, and hands-on scenario-based training — and I could not be prouder of the way they continue to grow, learn, and raise the standard for patient safety in our office.
We are so lucky to have them at Brewer Family Dentistry. They bring skill, heart, humor, and a whole lot of dedication to our patients every single day.

Every great dental office needs a plaque fighter and a schedule wrangler. We have both.
Meet Jason and Evan, two members of our Brewer Family Dentistry team who help keep our office moving and our patients smiling.
Jason is our hygienist — keeping smiles healthy, clean, and cared for.
Evan helps run the schedule, answers phones, keeps the front desk flowing, and is also working toward his own goal of becoming a hygienist one day.
One is fighting plaque now.
One is scheduling appointments now… and preparing to fight plaque in the future.
We are genuinely so proud of both of them — not only for what they bring to our practice every day, but for the professional goals they are building for themselves. It is a privilege to watch them grow, serve our patients, and be part of the heart of Brewer Family Dentistry.
