Doing dentistry differently has always been one of the pillars of who we are as a practice. Part of that is giving kids (and parents) dental visits that are approachable, comfortable, and most importantly, fun!

Celebrated the end of another whirlwind summer with a much needed team day!

Morning refresh meeting so we’re always ready to give our patients the very best care they deserve, and afternoon lunch & play PopStroke to recharge and get ready for the next leg of the year— back to school, holidays, there’s really no off season, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!🥰

Saturday was National Tooth Fairy Day, which we never miss a chance to celebrate🦷🧚. If you weren’t aware, we’re pretty tight with the Tooth Fairy here at Twice, so we know all her tips and tricks for getting kids excited for losing teeth!

The tooth-losing years are different for each child, so the Tooth Fairy experience can be different too! Make it your own and make it memorable for your child.

If you’ve been keeping up with our content for the past year or more, you may remember when Dr. Tiffany first started the Toothpillow | Your Virtual Airway Dentists journey with her own daughter… and here we are a year later with part 3 of our series🤣

Let’s be real for a second, it can feel SO disheartening when you think or know or have been told your child can benefit from something, only for them to not enjoy or comply with whatever it may be. Tooth Pillow can be so beneficial for so many kids, but SO may kids won’t wear them consistently to get the results they need. Some kids just need more time, and that’s okay!

Take it from Dr. Tiffany herself: don’t lose hope parents, there’s light at the end of the tunnel😵‍💫

We hope our long overdue part 3 gives you some optimism for your own journey with whatever you may be trying to get your kiddo to take to. Perhaps part 4 won’t be toooo far into the future🥰 stay tuned!

Something we talk a lot about in pediatric dentistry is the importance of bringing your littles ones as soon as they have teeth. Because of this, we sometimes get asked what the purpose is if we’re simply using a toothbrush. “I can just do that at home,” and that’s true! But there’s more to first, second and even third dental appointments than just cleaning!

- bringing kiddos early allows them the time they need to get comfortable with us and our environment, this way they’re ready for the “big” things like polishers and xrays at the age we try to start those things (typically age 3).
- before age 3, most kiddos don’t have significant plaque buildup, but if they do we make sure to discuss the safest way to remove it if they’re not quite up to using our fancy tools.
- every kid is different, and some need more appointments than others to feel safe while others may be ready for all the things their first time in the chair!
- education for parents is also so important early on, and we make sure to cover anything and everything in the first couple visits to ensure you’re confident in the care you give their little teeth at home!
