Quick reminders from your favorite Sweet Hygienists:

Change your toothbrush every 3 months. Don’t forget to swap after an illness.

Ditch your rinse and any toothpaste with SLS or triclosan. What we leave out is as important as what we add in.

Fast flossing misses the point. Bacteria hides deeper than that - Try shoe-shining each tooth before popping that floss out.

Don’t forget to clean your tongue.

We can recognize signs of restricted airway immediately. Trust us if we recommend a sleep study.

Let’s be honest… they do a lot more than just “clean your teeth.”
They’re your first impression, your educator, your wellness advocate… and sometimes your unofficial therapist.

They remember your kids’ names and where you took a vacation.
They notice the tiny changes in your health.
They ask the questions no one else is asking.
They’re first to connect the dots between your mouth and your whole body.
We might be a little biased… but we truly believe we have the best in the biz

So this Dental Hygiene Week, we’re celebrating the women who do it all and make it look effortless 🤍

The amount of times we hear “I love my girl, _____. She’s the best!” Who’s your girl? Emily? Amber? Allison? Tara? Jackie? Hannah? Aryka? Shout out your dental hygienist below and we’ll be sure to show them some *extra* love this week! Happy National Dental Hygiene Week to our favorite girls 🦷

The sweet truth is that hydroxyapatite is the same naturally occurring mineral found in 97% of your tooth enamel and 60-70% of your bones. You’re simply replacing what you’ve lost through dimeralization.

Lately you may have seen unsubstantiated claims that nano-hydroxyapatite that is added to many toothpastes is dangerous. We’re guessing that comes from some other nano ingredients that can be dangerous. But this doesn’t apply to hydroxyapatie and here’s why: • Nano-hydroxyapatite has been used in dentistry for decades (including bone grafting and implant coatings) so we actually have tons of reseach on it.
• The European Commission’s Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety has reviewed the data and confirms it safe and effective in toothpaste
• When used intraorally, the particles immediatley dissolve (unlike other nano sized materials) into Calcium and Phosphate. Minerals you already have or probably need.

Nano has lots of benefits because it is small enough to remineralize teeth. Larger particle sizes are like trying to fit a basketball into an ant tunnel.

Now let’s talk glycerin. Some say it “coats” your teeth and blocks minerals from saliva, but the science doesn’t support that. Glycerin is highly water-soluble and does not seal off your enamel from the good stuff in saliva.
Here’s the thing… science is always evolving. What was once considered harmful can be reconsidered and what was misunderstood can turn out to be beneficial after all. The choice is always yours, and if you choose not to use a remineralizing toothpaste, we’re cool with that, too. We’ll give you all the tips to slow down demineralization without it. 🤍

And as always.. don’t believe everything you see on the socials. At least consider the source. Comment “”RESEARCH”” if you want a list of studies and some of our recommended brands

Cavities don’t happen in isolation.

They spread.
To other teeth.
And even to other people.

If you have one… your mouth is already at higher risk for more. And you could be spreading those bugs to the people you love.

That’s why we treat the environment, not just the tooth.
