I first met Sharon and her husband Tom several years ago as patients, and I was intrigued by her vast experience in the dental field as a prior dental assistant, as a well traveled missionary, and her knowledge in horticulture. I should not have been surprised by her artistic and creative ability in creating stained glass. Tom’s calm and peaceful demeanor paired with Sharon’s knowledge and creativity, is the perfect combination for their growing venture:

They approached me last year, wanting to make a piece for the office, out of the kindness of their hearts. Sharon presented a few ideas incorporating my tooth request, and this is the end result. It is such a beautiful piece, created from the love, goodness and kindness of an amazing couple. I hope that it brings joy and peace to those that see it at the office.
Thank You Tom and Sharon, the timing is perfect for the new Office expansion, and reflects how our patient family has contributed to the growth and success of the practice.

Check out their website and contact them for your custom piece!

We often tell patients that they have an infection or an abscess and they sometimes say the tooth doesn’t hurt. In such cases, the tooth is dead and can die without revealing any symptoms.
Xrays will reveal the presence of an infection that if left untreated will continue to deteriorate the bone or even worse, the infection can spread into the body including the brain.
The infection can also be like a ticking time bomb, and quickly progress to swelling and intense pain.
Regular dental checkups and xrays are very important!!!

Sharing from dental daily and from a periodontist professor and colleague:

Researchers are uncovering a surprising connection between gum disease and breast cancer.

A well-known oral bacterium linked to periodontitis has been detected inside breast cancer tissue, raising new questions about how oral health may influence disease beyond the mouth.

According to recent findings, this bacterium can travel from the oral cavity to the breast, likely spreading through the bloodstream or the mammary ducts.

Once inside breast tissue, it doesn’t remain passive—it can adapt to the tumor environment and persist within cancer cells.

Even more concerning, laboratory evidence suggests this gum disease–associated bacterium may accelerate tumor growth and progression by interacting with cancer cells and the immune system.

This does not mean gum disease causes breast cancer, but it highlights a possible biological link worth serious attention.

The takeaway is clear: oral health is not isolated from overall health. Preventing and treating periodontal disease is not just about saving teeth—it may play a role in reducing systemic inflammation and potential downstream health risks.

I will say there are a good bit of some corporate owned practices throughout Braselton, but not in my building. Im here to serve my patients how I see best. Numbers do not dictate my treatment recommendations, rather the patients best interest. And The only one I report to at the end of the day who has helped shape how my office is run is God. I hope that our patients can tell the difference!
