FACD Member Spotlight
Andrew Varga, DMD, and his partners Drs. Zamikoff, Klement and Jungman practice together, in Bradenton, FL. They operate a fee for service practice with an in-house removable and fixed prosthetic lab technician. Our favorite procedures are complex oral rehabilitations which involve all principles of dentistry.

Andrew Varga, DMD: After completing my active duty commitment as a Navy dentist, I returned home to the Tampa Bay area to practice. I found a home with my partners Drs. Zamikoff, Klement and Jungman who recommended I join.
What was it about dentistry that made you want to become a dentist?
To practice dentistry is a great privilege. Comprehensive dental care involves a person healing physically, aesthetically, and psychologically. That process is unique to every individual and to guide each person and share in their healing process provides me with enormous personal satisfaction. It is an everyday reminder that my team and I are helping make the world happier one person at a time.
What is the most exciting thing that you see coming in the future of cosmetic dentistry?
New materials and techniques and their ease of use.
What is the coolest thing in your office?
Our amazing Team! The docs are only as great as their support.
If you created a “wish list” of things you would like to have in your office, what would be on top of that list?
A choo-choo train to go around the entire office through tunnels in the walls, or a digital impression to milling system that could accurately gather all the data needed so its results were as crisp as the work of my lab technician. Meaning: choice of material, margins, contacts, color characterization, emergence profile, any desired changes in VDO.
What is the most interesting part of your day?
New patient exams and hygiene checks, you never know what personalities or moods you will encounter. Our morning huddles are pretty fun too!
When you think about your industry’s future, what do you see?
I see amazing advancements in techniques and materials that will be available to better care for our patients. Unfortunately, I also see solo and small group practitioners being replaced by large insurance driven dental clinics.
What is your biggest pet peeve about the industry?
The lack of participation in organized dentistry. The Florida Dental Association does an amazing job of networking with our state politicians to serve as guardians to the interests of dentists. The way we practice is under constant threat on multiple fronts. Decreasing membership equates to less resources to protect our patients and profession.
What one thing should the rest of the FACD membership know about YOU?
When treating patients my focus is comprehensive. This includes exceptional aesthetics, ideal function, and solid periodontal health.
