Managing oral health with diabetes
If you have diabetes, you may experience oral health issues such as bleeding gums, dry mouth, dulled sense of taste, infections and delayed wound healing. There are a few things you can do to prevent or manage these issues:
* Control your blood sugar levels through diet, exercise and/or medication.
* Quit smoking.
* Brush your teeth for two minutes twice per day.
* Floss daily.
* Visit the dentist regularly.
