This week, Dr. Z had the privilege of presenting to the Baltimore County Dental Association. His presentation focused on ‘Airway and It’s Impact on Improving Life Quality and Health Span’. The key takeaway? We need to focus on optimizing health span (the quality of our years) rather than just life span, because, truly, living and thriving is the goal as we age! If you are interested in having Dr. Z present at your next event, please reach out to our office at (301) 352-6311.

Temporomandibular Disorders don’t have to be complicated.
This live virtual course is designed to de-mythicize TMJ disorders and provide a clear, practical approach to managing patients with jaw joint issues.

Join Edward Zebovitz, DDS, DABOM as he breaks down how the TMJ disease process works, how muscles respond, and how these issues can affect airway and occlusion. The course presents an easy-to-understand biomechanical model, along with a logical protocol for diagnosis, management, and referral decision-making.

The Study Club from this past weekend, focused on Health Span vs Life Span and impacts of Airway and Breathing. The group trialed Continuous Glucose Monitoring , to better assess individual responses to eating and sleeping on blood glucose. Dr. Z focused on Jaw Structure issues as a causative factor while reviewing the signs of compensation, tension muscles, tongue posture and the associated systems patients experience. The group was so excited and prompted the questions: “How do we manage and improve our patient’s comfort and health?”. Topics of management covered were: Wearable tools for assessment, Airway Studies, Cone Beam CT scans and Drug Induced Sleep Endoscopy (DISE). The topic was completed by discussing: MARPE (Microimplant Anchorage Rapid Palatal Expansion), SFOT (Surgically Facilitated Orthodontic Techniques), and of course, Dr. Z’s favorite topic, MMA Surgery (Maxillomandibular Advancement Surgery)! If you’d like to know more, please reach out to Dr Z, 301-352-6311.
