Dr. Luciano Retana spent the past few days in Las Vegas at Dentsply Sirona World 2026, one of the largest dental education events in the country. He was invited to speak on the main stage and also teach a full course to dentists from around the world. 🦷

Teaching other dentists keeps him on the cutting edge of implant and restorative dentistry, and that experience comes right back to our patients here in Boulder.

Proud of you, Dr. Luciano Retana! 👏

Can you tell they’re veneers? That’s the point. ✨

This smile didn’t turn into bright, flat, “obviously fake” white. It got better. We refined the shape, balanced the proportions, and brightened the shade while keeping the translucency, texture, and character of natural teeth.

Great veneers come from:
🦷 A minimally invasive approach that preserves as much natural tooth as possible
🎨 Master-level ceramic work, custom layered and characterized for each patient
🔍 Planning around your face, your lips, and your smile, not a one-size-fits-all template

People should notice that you look great. They shouldn’t be able to tell what you had done.

This is the real deal in veneers, here in Boulder. 📍

Proud to support polo in our community! 🐎🏆

Arapahoe Dental was proud to sponsor the Best Playing Pony Award at this weekend’s tournament and present this beautiful award blanket to a very deserving winner! 🐴✨

We’re also proud to support Tana Polo, who had a fantastic weekend and made it all the way to the final after some incredibly competitive matches.

For us, being part of the Boulder community goes far beyond dentistry. We love supporting the people, athletes, horses, and events that make Colorado such a special place to call home.

Congratulations to our Best Playing Pony and to everyone who made it such a great weekend of polo! 🏆🐎

👉 “Are dental X-rays safe?”

I see this every day
Patients avoiding X-rays for years because of fear.
The reality is modern digital X-rays are extremely low radiation—often less than what you get from normal daily life or even a short flight.
The bigger risk is not taking them and missing problems early.
My goal is not to take more X-rays… it’s to take the right ones at the right time.
If you have concerns, just ask. I’m always happy to explain.

🦷 Did you know? What is a Prosthodontist?

A prosthodontist is a dental specialist with advanced training in smile restoration and teeth replacement — but Dr. Luciano Retana went far beyond the standard path.
While every dentist completes 4 years of dental school, Dr. Retana dedicated 7 additional years to formal post-doctoral education — earning 2 Master of Sciences degrees and completing 2 specialties. With 20 years of clinical experience and an international career as a lecturer and educator, he brings a depth of expertise rarely found in a single Boulder practice. 🏔️
What does that mean for you? It means whether you need a single implant, a full smile makeover, or anything in between — you’re in the hands of one of the most extensively trained dental specialists in Colorado. ✨
