Dear Pre-dents,
We hope this message finds you well. As both members of the Boston University and dental community, it is important for Boston University Pre-dental Society to emphasize that we stand with the Black Lives Matter Movement. With the memory of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and many others, we are sending this statement to stand against systemic racism and for social justice.
As future health care providers, it is imperative for us all to understand that systemic racism is at the forefront of many public health issues, especially access to care. Educating ourselves on issues of public health is an important step to providing quality dental care for all patients in the future. For that, we have provided resources to learn more about the Black Lives Matter Movement as well as institutionalized racism in health care.
If you would like to contribute to the movement, we have also included links to organizations you can donate to as well as petitions to sign. We hope you all stay safe and active during this time and feel free to reach out for support.
Best regards,
