To all my wonderful patients and friends,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued trust and confidence in allowing me to care for your dental needs through the years. Many of you are more than patients, but friends who I look forward to seeing at each and every visit. I thank you for the support of our office, we truly appreciate the referrals, reviews, and concern for our staff and doctors.
I am writing to inform you of my upcoming absence. I have been battling an autoimmune disease for 10 years, and was diagnosed with Scleroderma. Presently, there is no cure for this disease, however a lung transplant is the only way to treat my condition. I am currently on the waiting list for a double lung transplant surgery at MGH, and my doctor may call me anytime to proceed with this surgery within the next few weeks. If you'd like to find out more about my condition, please visit my website

In an effort to ensure that my patients continue to receive the best possible care while I am on my medical leave, I have carefully evaluated a number of colleagues who will care for my patients; including my multi-talented and amazing wife, Dr. Maria Gonzalez, I also have two trusted friends and colleagues. Dr. Alberto Lamberti is a fellow faculty Prosthodontist at Tufts, and Dr. Hamed Alenezi is a former student and a graduate from Tufts Dental School. I have selected them with the highest qualifications and all are extremely well skilled in all phases of dentistry.
Dr. Lamberti is a very trusted friend and colleague who is also from Venezuela. He received his Doctor in Dental Science (DDS) degree from Central University in Venezuela in 2000 and Postgraduate Specialty Degree in Prosthodontics in 2005. After a few years of private practice and teaching experience, he moved to Boston and received his Implant Dentistry Fellowship degree and his Doctor of Medical in Dentistry (DMD) from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He currently holds an Assistant Professor Faculty appointment at Tufts University, and likes the balance of teaching and working with his own patients.
Dr. Alenezi is from Kuwait, and had moved to Boston after high school. He received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medical in Dentistry degree from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine graduating 2nd in his class In addition to completing his dental degree, in 2012 he also completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Fellowship and was awarded a clinical proficiency award. He attended Tufts University Dental School and received a Certificate in Prosthodontics where he was trained in full mouth rehabilitation, esthetic dentistry, dental implants and digital dentistry. He is currently a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics.
Thank you all for the ongoing support for our office, and concern for my health. I will keep you posted on my condition and progress and I will be back in the office as soon as I get clearance from my doctor. I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
Best,
Luis Del Castillo
