Smoothies can be a great way to sneak in extra fruits and veggies into your child's diet! Here's a healthy recipe that's also good for their teeth: blend one cup of spinach (they won't taste it!), one banana, one cup of frozen mixed berries, half a cup of plain Greek yogurt, and a splash of milk or almond milk. Spinach is high in calcium, which is excellent for tooth and bone health, and berries are packed with antioxidants that can help fight bacteria in the mouth. Give it a try, and let us know what your kids think!

Parents, did you know that letting your kids chew on ice can actually be harmful to their teeth? Not only can it cause small chips or cracks in their teeth, but it can also lead to tooth sensitivity, jaw pain, and even tooth loss over time. So next time your child reaches for that ice cube, remind them to let it melt instead of crunching away!

Did you know that 2.5 million adolescents use e-cigarettes? Va**ng can cause dry mouth, reducing saliva flow and increasing tooth decay and gum disease risk. E-cigarettes also contain harmful chemicals that can erode tooth enamel, leading to sensitivity and discoloration. Encourage your teens to avoid va**ng and maintain a healthy smile by brushing twice a day and visiting the dentist regularly.

Staying hydrated is essential for your child's overall health, but getting them to drink enough water can be a challenge. Try adding a slice of lemon or cucumber to their water for a fun flavor twist. You can also encourage water intake by offering a water bottle with their favorite character or color. And remember to lead by example - drink water yourself and make it a family habit. Let's keep our little ones healthy and hydrated!

Did you know that wearing a mouthguard can save your child's smile? High-contact sports like basketball, football, and hockey can cause serious dental injuries, such as chipped, cracked, or knocked-out teeth. But wearing a properly fitted mouthguard protects your teeth, gums, and jaw from damage. So, before your kids head to the field or court, make sure to gear up with a mouthguard!

We all want a clean toothbrush! Store your toothbrush upright, not touching other brushes, and in a medicine cabinet or closet away from the open air (and flushing toilets...yuck!). If you use a toothbrush cover, make sure it has holes to allow moisture to escape or has antibacterial properties.

Did you know that peas are not only good for your child's overall health but also for their dental health? Peas are packed with vitamins and minerals that are essential for strong teeth and gums. They also have a high water content which helps to neutralize the acid produced by bacteria in the mouth, reducing the risk of tooth decay. Next time you're making dinner for your little one, make sure to add some peas to the menu.
