🦷 Learning and collaborating beyond dentistry! 👃

The Lowcountry Interdisciplinary Dental Study Club (LIDSC), founded by Dr. Miler, recently welcomed Dr. Nick Drury of Charleston ENT & Allergy for an insightful discussion on obstructive sleep apnea.
An honorary member of the dental community, Dr. Drury brought a valuable perspective to our group!

Thank you, Dr. Drury, for sharing your expertise and helping us better serve our Lowcountry patients! 👏 And thank you Beaufort Digital Corridor for the hospitality!

⛳️Miler Orthodontics was proud to sponsor the 8th Annual Bridges Prep Golf Tournament at Fripp Island Ocean Creek. We loved being able to send a team out to enjoy the day and support the Bridges Prep community!
And because it wouldn’t be golf in the Lowcountry without a little local wildlife… 🐊 Only in the Lowcountry do golf and gators go hand in hand!

Thank you to Bridges Preparatory School and everyone who helped make it such a fun event! 💙

🎃 Kicking off spooky season with some seriously strange dental history… 🦷🐛

Long before modern dentistry, people believed toothaches and cavities were caused by “tooth worms” living inside the teeth. 😳
The belief dates back thousands of years and persisted in different cultures for centuries. Some historical depictions were pretty creative about what might be lurking inside a painful tooth… Thankfully, we know a little more about teeth these days. 😂

Happy spooky season from Miler Orthodontics! 🎃

Growth is better when we grow together. 💙
Miler Orthodontics was proud to serve as a Program Sponsor of the Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce's inaugural State of Growth event.
Dr. Miler enjoyed joining local business and community leaders for an important conversation about the growth of our region and how transportation, housing, healthcare, education, and economic development are all connected. Thank you to the Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce for conversations that help shape the future of the Lowcountry. We’re grateful to be a part of it!

Sometimes a permanent tooth becomes impacted, meaning it is unable to erupt normally into the mouth. This can happen because of limited space, the position of the developing tooth, or another tooth blocking its path. That’s one reason orthodontists look at more than just straight teeth. We’re also evaluating the bite, jaw development, available space, and how permanent teeth are developing beneath the surface.

Identifying an impacted tooth early can give us more options to create space and help guide the tooth into the proper position. 💙 Wondering about your child’s dental development? Consultations are complimentary.
