I've been keeping a very close eye on our book drive. Mostly because I'm excellent at supervising. And looking cute. It's a demanding job.

Just popping in to remind you that our 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀. 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲. is wrapping up NEXT WEEK! 💙

We're collecting new and like-new books for children in 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 to support Lead to Read KC and help get more stories into the hands of local kids!

Healthy smiles start early!

Taking care of your child's teeth is an important part of their overall health. Help your child build good dental habits by:

Brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste.
Flossing once a day when teeth touch.
Choosing water instead of sugary drinks.
Limiting frequent sugary snacks and drinks.
Scheduling regular dental checkups.

And don't forget those baby teeth. They help children eat, speak and make room for their permanent teeth.

Starting healthy habits early can help your child keep smiling for years to come.

Be honest…do you floss before or after you brush? 👀

For this week’s National Dental Hygiene Month tip, we’re making the case for giving floss the first turn—especially during your nighttime routine.

Flossing first helps loosen what’s hiding between your teeth, then brushing can come through and finish the job. It’s a tiny switch that doesn’t add any extra time to your routine.

You may have noticed a little extra pink around the office lately. 🩷 We've switched up our usual gloves in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

It's a small gesture, but one that means a lot to us. We know that behind every breast cancer diagnosis are real people, families, and loved ones whose lives are affected in so many ways. While wearing pink may seem like a little thing, it's our way of helping raise awareness and keeping those important conversations going.

𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 is also a great reminder to take a little time to learn more about:

✦ 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Why recommended screenings matter, knowing what's normal for your body, and recognizing changes worth bringing up with your healthcare provider.

✦ 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀: Understanding breast cancer, learning about risk factors, and finding ways to be proactive about breast health.

✦ 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: Recognizing the many ways breast cancer can affect someone's life and the importance of showing up for one another.

✦ 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆: Creating space for people to share their experiences, ask questions, and find the support they need.

Cold and flu season is here, which makes today’s 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 the perfect time for a little reminder about one of the simplest ways to help keep germs from spreading!

Whether you're getting ready to eat, coming home after a busy day, or recovering from a sneeze (or two!), taking a little time to wash up can make a big difference. 💛

And remember, thorough handwashing means 𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗯𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗴 with soap and water!

Our National Dental Hygiene Month series continues! 🪥

This week’s little reminder: take a peek at the toothpaste tube already sitting on your bathroom counter.

Fluoride helps strengthen tooth enamel and protect against cavities, which means choosing a fluoride toothpaste is one of the easiest ways to add a little extra protection to something you’re already doing twice a day.

Nothing new to add to your routine—just make what you’re already doing count!
