October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month which is especially important to me as my mother has successfully defeated this disease multiple times. In honor of those who are fighting Breast Cancer we are raising money and awareness by donating $5 on behalf of each patients who is wearing elastic ties during the month of October. For all post and page likes we will also be donating $1 per like! Help us reach our goal of $2500 this month to honor those fighting this disease! We have been truly touched by the support thus far but still need more help to reach our goal!

It was a great week of massive Starbucks orders, gifts, custom tumblers, and lots of yummy food to show appreciation to our amazing staff during Orthodontic Staff Appreciation Week! Our staff works hard day in and day out helping craft smiles for our wonderful patients! Thanks for all you do!

Exciting news - we are officially reopened to all patients and appointment types! Our practice spent the past several weeks taking care of our existing patients and implementing advanced safety procedures for the health and safety of our patients and our staff. We look forward to seeing you all soon and please call the office if you are in need of an appointment!

Update to yesterday’s post:

Late last night the Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS) recommended all dental professionals delay non-emergency treatments for at least two weeks to limit the spread of COVID-19. As a result we will be rescheduling all remaining appointments in March until the beginning of April. We appreciate your cooperation and patience. Should you experience a painful orthodontic emergency please call our office at 1(630)894-5557 to leave a voicemail or find out how to contact Dr. John directly. Our voicemail will be checked periodically and calls will be returned as soon as possible.

The situation is constantly changing and the recommendations of the ISDS or CDC may change and we will follow suit in the best interest of the safety of our patients and our staff. We will likely be extending or modifying the clinic hours to better accommodate our patients and we will be instituting new policies to help reduce the spread of this dangerous virus.

Please email [email protected] if your contact info has changed or you do not routinely receive email reminders about your appointments.

I will be updating social media and/or our website with helpful information on how to manage any potential orthodontic problems you or your child may experience during this time. Should you run out of wax, brace relief gel, or rubber bands we have stocked the common areas of all three offices with these items that you can pick up at your convenience.

Please stay safe and heed the recommendations of medical professionals who are advising strict social distancing. We are stronger together than we are alone.

To our patients, friends and family,

For the health and safety of our patients, staff, their families, and our community Katsis Orthodontics will not be seeing patients this week at any of our locations. I anticipate that all non-essential businesses will soon receive a mandate from the state or federal government requiring them to shut down. As important as orthodontic treatment is to our dental health and self-esteem, seeing patients for regularly scheduled examinations and adjustments can wait in uncertain and frankly dangerous times like these.

Administrative staff will be calling patients tomorrow to begin the process of rescheduling them to later dates. Due to the highly communicable nature of the Coronavirus we will be taking additional safety measures outside of our already stringent sterilization and disinfection practices.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation in these trying times. We are stronger as a community when we work together in the interest of everyone's safety and well-being.
