✋💚 Happy National Left-Handers Day! 💚✋

Fun fact: Dr. Draughn AND her husband, DJ, are both left-handed!

They say lefties tend to be a little more creative, artistic, and outside-the-box thinkers… so maybe there’s something to it! 😉 Between the precision and artistry of dentistry and the projects these two always seem to have going, we’d say it fits pretty well. 😂

Of course, they’ve also spent their whole lives figuring out scissors, notebooks, can openers, and everything else apparently designed for right-handed people. 🤣

🎓🦷 A Bittersweet Last Day! 🦷🎓

Today is our dental students, last day with us before officially heading out into the workforce! 🥹

We are so thankful for all of the hard work, dedication, and helping hands she has brought to Draughn Dental Care during her time with us. It has been a pleasure getting to be a small part of her journey, and we’re excited to see where this next chapter takes her!

🎉 Please help us welcome Shelby Selvy, RDH, to the Draughn Dental Care team! 🎉

We are so excited to welcome Shelby to our team!

Shelby has been a dental hygienist for nearly a decade and brings a wealth of experience from private practice, corporate dentistry, and community health. Her well-rounded background allows her to provide exceptional care to patients with a variety of dental needs.

Most recently, Shelby cared for patients at River Hills in Centerville before the practice closed last month. We know many of her former patients will be happy to see a familiar face!

Shelby is a Missouri native and lives with her husband and their two boys. Being from just across the state line, she understands the close-knit communities we serve on both sides of the Iowa–Missouri border.

Shelby is currently seeing patients one day a week, and we’re excited to have her on board. Our hope is to continue growing her schedule and eventually welcome her full-time as our practice continues to expand.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have Shelby as part of the Draughn Dental Care family and can’t wait for our patients to get to know her. If you see Shelby at your next visit, be sure to give her a warm welcome! 💚🦷
