Here's something most people don't think about: dental procedures create inflammation and healing response in your tissues.

Whether you've had a cleaning, extraction, implant, or other work — your body is actively recovering.

Red light therapy supports that recovery by:
✦ Reducing post-procedure inflammation
✦ Stimulating tissue repair at the cellular level
✦ Improving circulation to healing sites
✦ Potentially reducing discomfort and recovery time

By offering the RENEW Red Light Panorama Panel as an add-on at Twin Oaks, we're giving your body more tools to heal — faster and more completely.

This is what integrative care looks like.

💬 Have questions about red light therapy? Drop them below — we'd love to answer.

You may have heard of red light therapy in the wellness world — but what does the science actually say?

Red and near-infrared light wavelengths pe*****te the skin and tissues, where they interact with mitochondria — the energy centers of your cells.

Studies have explored its role in:
✦ Reducing systemic inflammation
✦ Accelerating wound healing
✦ Supporting collagen production
✦ Improving circulation
✦ Reducing pain and muscle tension

For our patients — especially those focused on recovery, longevity, and whole-body wellness — we see this as a natural complement to the care we already provide.

This is why we brought the RENEW Panorama Panel into Twin Oaks.

Did you know HPV is now one of the leading causes of oropharyngeal cancer?

Oral cancer doesn't only affect heavy smokers or drinkers — and awareness is the first line of defense.

Risk factors include:
✦ HPV (especially HPV-16)
✦ To***co use (including smokeless to***co)
✦ Heavy alcohol consumption
✦ Prolonged sun exposure on the lips
✦ Age 40+ (though rates in younger adults are rising)

At Twin Oaks, we screen every patient — because you can't see what you don't look for.

💬 When was your last comprehensive dental exam? It may be more important than you think.

Most oral cancers are found during routine dental exams — often before the patient has noticed any symptoms.

Don't wait until something feels wrong.

Schedule a comprehensive exam if you:
✦ Haven't seen a dentist in over a year
✦ Notice a sore in your mouth that hasn't healed in 2+ weeks
✦ Have a white or red patch on your gums, tongue, or inner cheek
✦ Experience unexplained pain, numbness, or difficulty swallowing
✦ Have any of the risk factors we've shared this month

Early detection saves lives. And it starts with a conversation.

The research is clear: people with gum disease are significantly more likely to develop cardiovascular disease.

Here's what we know:
✦ Bacteria from the mouth can enter the bloodstream through inflamed gum tissue
✦ This triggers systemic inflammation — a key driver of heart disease
✦ People with periodontitis show higher rates of heart attack and stroke
✦ Managing gum disease may reduce cardiovascular risk

This isn't about scaring you. It's about empowering you.

When you invest in your oral health, you're investing in your heart, your brain, your longevity.

At Twin Oaks, we treat your mouth like it matters to the rest of you — because it does.

April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month — and this is something we take seriously at Twin Oaks Dental.

Every comprehensive exam at our office includes an oral cancer screening. It takes minutes. It can save your life.

Here's what we look for:
✦ Unusual sores or patches that don't heal
✦ Changes in tissue color (red or white spots)
✦ Lumps or thickening in the cheek, tongue, or throat
✦ Difficulty swallowing or chewing

When caught early, oral cancer has a significantly higher survival rate. When caught late, the outcomes are much harder.

You deserve a dental team that sees the whole picture — not just your teeth.

Bleeding gums without pain are easy to dismiss — but they’re often one of the earliest signs that inflammation is present. 🚩

Gum disease doesn’t usually hurt at first. That’s why prevention and early detection matter so much. ⚕️

If you’ve noticed bleeding when brushing or flossing, a prevention-focused dental visit can help identify the cause and stop progression early.
