At Bismarck Advanced Dental and Implants, we specialize in two types of dental implants: endosteal and subperiosteal. Most people are familiar with the endosteal dental implant, as it is the one used to surgically place the implant into the jawbone. The subperiosteal implant is designed for placement on top of the jaw, versus being surgically embedded into the jawbone. We recommend dental implants because they are an effective and long-lasting solution for individuals missing teeth. To qualify as a candidate for dental implants, we will review your oral health history and determine if you have certain factors that will improve the success rate of a dental implant:

Tooth extraction may be used as a solution to a variety of different issues. If a tooth is damaged or decayed beyond repair then extraction is often the last resort for treatment. This procedure is most commonly used for teeth towards the back of the mouth and rarely used for the front teeth. Our dentists aim to make sure you are satisfied with your smile and teeth and we know that leaving you with a hole in your smile will not accomplish this. In cases involving the front teeth, extraction may be possible with an implant procedure following. As long as the patient receives treatment at the first signs of tooth decay and damage, an extraction will not be needed.
